This site, and the concepts, rules, and general philosophy presented or linked to in the pages of this site (which material shall hereafter be referred to as ‘This Stuff’), are completely unauthorized and unsanctioned by anyone, anywhere, except by Mike Rayhawk, who promises to authorize and/or sanction them only half-heartedly and on a very occasional basis. This Stuff is especially unauthorized and unsanctioned by The LEGO Company, Best-Lock Group Ltd., Mega Bloks Inc., or in fact by any producer of any type of plastic construction toys, or for that matter by anyone who is remotely connected with any producer of any type of toys, plastic or construction or otherwise. Furthermore, if there is anyone else out there we somehow missed, we apologize and preemptively disclaim any apparent or implicit authorization or sanctioning from said parties. In the unlikely event that some presently unspecified party attempt to sanction or authorize This Stuff at some point in the future, we reserve the right to acknowledge or disavow their sanctioning or authorization at our discretion.

All images associated with this game and included in some versions of this rulebook are created and copyrighted by Mike Rayhawk, except where otherwise specifically noted. These images may be construed by hostile parties as bearing some superficial resemblance to products that have been copyrighted by the LEGO Group. This does not represent any kind of endorsement or approval by the LEGO Group. This site is not specifically geared towards the “LEGO®â€ product line, nor towards any specific product line of any producer of plastic construction toys or any other type of toys. In the unlikely event that it can be proven that these pictures are intended to portray products in the “LEGO®â€ product line, then that portrayal should be interpreted as representing the authors’ personal, subjective, and unsolicited preference for the “LEGO®â€ product line. These images are provided only as examples – any type of toys, including products from other manufacturers’ lines of plastic construction toys, could be used instead.

The original edition of BrikWars was largely based on the games ‘Lego Wars’ and ‘Lego Wars II,’ copyrighted ©1991, 1995 Eric O’Dell and R. Todd Ogrin. A small amount of material in This Stuff pays homage to material from these earlier games. The word “LEGO®â€ is a registered trademark of the LEGO Group.  Despite the inclusion of the word “LEGO®â€ in the titles of the games ‘Lego Wars’ and ‘Lego Wars II,’ those games were not authorized or sanctioned by the LEGO Group, and in fact the LEGO Group was insistent on voicing their specific disapproval of these two games.

Everything in the BrikWars rulebook that can’t be proven to belong to one of those entities listed above is Copyright ©1995-2012 Mike Rayhawk.

If, even after all that, you still have any objections, then frankly we’re a little surprised! We can only suggest that you switch to decaf, and maybe get some therapy to see if you can’t work out your persecution complex. Nonetheless, please feel free to e-mail us at [email protected].

A Note from Mike
MikifigThere have been occasional instances in which other authors of miniatures wargames have tried to steal ideas, text, and graphics from BrikWars and present them as their own.  This doesn’t bother me as much as you might expect (except when they do such a half-assed job that I’m embarrassed to be associated with them). However, there are some ideas and images which I feel should remain unique to BrikWars, and I am prepared to defend them vigorously (possibly by using one or more of the “felonious purposes” listed in the above table).

If you are authoring a miniatures wargame and are thinking about using BrikWars as a “resource,” please e-mail me first.  In most cases I will either make the material available for your use or help you to create new material (time permitting); at the very least I will have some advice to offer based on my own harrowing experiences.

Linking to BrikWars.com

If you would like to post a link to BrikWars on your website, please link to the top page (http://PLACEHOLDER.wpsho) rather than to any of the interior pages of the site (the rulebook, for instance).  If you must post a link to an interior page, you may do so, as long as next to it you also post a separate link to the top page.  Surfers jumping straight to interior pages are often unaware of the resources available elsewhere on the site.

When linking to BrikWars, or writing about BrikWars in general, remember that it’s spelled ‘Brik,’ not ‘Brick.’
