This site, and the concepts, rules, and general philosophy presented or linked to in the pages of this site (which material shall hereafter be referred to as ÃâThis StuffÃâ), are completely unauthorized and unsanctioned by anyone, anywhere, except by Mike Rayhawk, who promises to authorize and/or sanction them only half-heartedly and on a very occasional basis. This Stuff is especially unauthorized and unsanctioned by The LEGO Company, Best-Lock Group Ltd., Mega Bloks Inc., or in fact by any producer of any type of plastic construction toys, or for that matter by anyone who is remotely connected with any producer of any type of toys, plastic or construction or otherwise. Furthermore, if there is anyone else out there we somehow missed, we apologize and preemptively disclaim any apparent or implicit authorization or sanctioning from said parties. In the unlikely event that some presently unspecified party attempt to sanction or authorize This Stuff at some point in the future, we reserve the right to acknowledge or disavow their sanctioning or authorization at our discretion.
All images associated with this game and included in some versions of this rulebook are created and copyrighted by Mike Rayhawk, except where otherwise specifically noted. These images may be construed by hostile parties as bearing some superficial resemblance to products that have been copyrighted by the LEGO Group. This does not represent any kind of endorsement or approval by the LEGO Group. This site is not specifically geared towards the ÃâLEGOÃÃÃîÃâ product line, nor towards any specific product line of any producer of plastic construction toys or any other type of toys. In the unlikely event that it can be proven that these pictures are intended to portray products in the ÃâLEGOÃÃÃîÃâ product line, then that portrayal should be interpreted as representing the authorsÃâ personal, subjective, and unsolicited preference for the ÃâLEGOÃÃÃîÃâ product line. These images are provided only as examples Ãâ any type of toys, including products from other manufacturersÃâ lines of plastic construction toys, could be used instead.
The original edition of BrikWars was largely based on the games ÃâLego WarsÃâ and ÃâLego Wars II,Ãâ copyrighted ÃÃÃé1991, 1995 Eric OÃâDell and R. Todd Ogrin. A small amount of material in This Stuff pays homage to material from these earlier games. The word ÃâLEGOÃÃÃîÃâ is a registered trademark of the LEGO Group.ÃÃÃàDespite the inclusion of the word ÃâLEGOÃÃÃîÃâ in the titles of the games ÃâLego WarsÃâ and ÃâLego Wars II,Ãâ those games were not authorized or sanctioned by the LEGO Group, and in fact the LEGO Group was insistent on voicing their specific disapproval of these two games.
Everything in the BrikWars rulebook that canÃât be proven to belong to one of those entities listed above is Copyright ÃÃÃé1995-2012 Mike Rayhawk.
If, even after all that, you still have any objections, then frankly weÃâre a little surprised! We can only suggest that you switch to decaf, and maybe get some therapy to see if you canÃât work out your persecution complex. Nonetheless, please feel free to e-mail us at [email protected].
You may print out and distribute unaltered copies of the rulebook for private or public non-commercial use. If you create a modified or abbreviated copy of the rulebook, or if you make promotional flyers for a BrikWars event, you may print them out and distribute them as long as the following guidelines jmmare followed:
- Any modified or abbreviated version of the rulebook must be clearly labelled as being a modified or abbrieviated version.
- The name and contact information of the individual or group by whom the material was printed should also be included in the label.
- Be sure to include the following text:
BrikWars is copyright ÃÃÃé1995-2012 Mike Rayhawk. For more information and the complete rules, please visit http://www.brikwars.com.
If you include material that falls under the copyright of any other individual or group, be sure to include copyright notices for them as well.
- Soaking copies of BrikWars in gasoline and using them to start structure fires.
- Spraypainting rulebook excerpts or unit stats on the walls of subways or police stations.
- Inscribing pages from the rulebook on heavy stone tablets and dropping them out skyscraper windows in the hopes of crushing pedestrians or small dogs.
- Using humans and actual assault weapons in the place of toy miniatures.
- Kidnapping the cheerleading squad at gunpoint and forcing them to play BrikWars for thirty-six hours straight.
- Etcetera.

If you would like to post a link to BrikWars on your website,ÃÃÃÃÂ please link to the top page (http://PLACEHOLDER.wpsho) ratherÃÃÃÃÂ than to any of the interior pages of the site (the rulebook,ÃÃÃÃÂ for instance).ÃÃÃÃÂ If you must post a link to an interiorÃÃÃÃÂ page, you may do so, as long as next to it you also post a separateÃÃÃÃÂ link to the top page.ÃÃÃÃÂ Surfers jumping straight to interiorÃÃÃÃÂ pages are often unaware of the resources available elsewhereÃÃÃÃÂ on the site.
When linking to BrikWars, or writing about BrikWars in general,ÃÃÃàremember that itÃâs spelled ÃâBrik,Ãâ not ÃâBrick.Ãâ

There have been occasional instances in which other authors of miniatures wargames have tried to steal ideas, text, and graphics from BrikWars and present them as their own.ÃÃÃàThis doesnÃât bother me as much as you might expect (except when they do such a half-assed job that IÃâm embarrassed to be associated with them). However, there are some ideas and images which I feel should remain unique to BrikWars, and I am prepared to defend them vigorously (possibly by using one or more of the Ãâfelonious purposesÃâ listed in the above table).
