“Halloween Hellhunt” Battle Reports

Judging has concluded on the second annual Halloween Hellhunt battle report contest, and Killer Karetsu’s “The Battle at Brikpass” has come out on top. The forces of both Count Shinypants and Dark Lord Krag Hag had the poor luck to be traveling through the Brikpass on the same day, and slaughter inevitably ensued.

Battles were judged by a team of five judges for a potential five points based on five categories: Gameplay, Photography, Violence, Writing, and Overall Appeal. These were combined, through mysterious Halloween math, to add up to a maximum potential score of 16. How does that work? Not even the judges know for sure.

Death in Philidelphia

Every week for the past month or so, Rev. Sylvanus is playing BrikWars with some friends down at Redcap’s Corner game shop in Philidelphia. On April 30th there will be a tournament, so if you live in the area you should check it out. This weekend’s battle was a grudge match between Rev’s OOF and dirtycajun’s Horror Corps. They’re fighting over a mysterious pod that crash-landed in a pond at the centre of the field. Who will win? Check the links below for this battle report and others.

DSM Civil War

ForlornCreature posted an awesome battle report of a fight between the infamous Deadly Space Men and their sworn enemies, the Futuron. The Futuron trick the DSM into allowing them to land near their gas mining operation, but getting to the field doesn’t make you win the fight automatically. 2010 has been a year of battle and conflict for space factions. The Immortals have prompted an arms race among many of the star empires and sparked huge clashes between them. Notably, the long awaited Round 2 of the Peach Massacre of G.R. 2010 is finally being uploaded to the forums, so check it out as 200+ minifigs from three different star empires face off in an epic free for all to the death.

Copenhagen Climate Conference

There have been plenty of awesome battle reports coming in over the last couple of months that I’ve been too lazy to post, but there was no way I could let this one pass without comment. It’s the first one I’ve seen to put Obama and his well-known superpowers to use in combat, to truly stupendous effect. This is a moment that will shape history.

The pictures aren’t the best quality, but from start to epic conclusion this is truly a battle not to be missed.

Combat Serials

December seems to be the month for daily-update combat serials, starting with Reasonably Clever doing a QuikWars version of their annual LEGO Advent Calendar feature. It’s the Town Calendar versus the Castle Calendar, fighting to the death while both attempt to free the imprisoned Santa Claus from evil Martians.

Pesgores followed up a little bit later with “Superproject Codename: Persogoras,” a play-by-forum battle between the Rebels (played by Moronstudios), the Empire (OneEye589), the Pirates (Bonn-o-Tron), and the Droids (IVhorseman).

Last but not least, Natalya followed suit with the Death War Project, making up for its later start with some of the best BrikWars action photography to date. The combined-forces battle sets the Assyrian Star Empire (pesgores and Natalya), the Czech Republic (Moronstudios and AmmoMan), the Space Ninjas (Theblackdog), the Space Pirates (Rody), and the Gludavian Raiders (Niflheim) in deadly combat from clashing ground forces up to the mighty Assyrian space cruiser.

DaCheez’s Firefly-Themed Battle

Mercenaries, Alliance, and Reavers, oh my! DaCheez spent more photos on his troops messing with the space station’s environmental controls than on what were reportedly some heavy firefights, but watching squads get crushed by artificial gravity and sucked out airlocks is pretty entertaining nonetheless.
