Re: [JJJ] Return of the SigFig

Style: 7 The effects are great, as is the group of assorted heralds of Ragnablok. I also like the way you've made the ground out of hexagonal plates, it makes it feel a bit like it's taking place on a game board. That being said, I kind of wish the landscape was a little more populated. Substance: 7...

Re: [JJJ19] M-Throne Tank Factory

Style: 7 I like the plain grey look, it feels utilitarian as it should. The one thing I'll say is that the red stripe should maybe be closer to the centre of the wall or nearer the bottom. The inside has some very tasty technical bits though. Substance: 8 As I said, the mechanical bits are lovely, a...

Re: [JJJ19] The Ones from Beyond enter the war

Style: 6 While it may not be stylish in the traditional sense, it definitely feels like Brikwars. Also the Mindstorms monster is pretty frightening. Substance: 4 It's hard to fault someone for not having the briks to make cohesive stuff, but it is very rainbow. I do like that tank with the airplane ...

Re: [JJJ19] The Last Quantumsupper

Style: 9 Love the idea of a party at the end of the universe, and what better way to do it than by appropriating religious imagery? Very Brikwars. Substance: 7 While there's not a whole lot going on from a technical standpoint, and I'm not sure about the mixing of POOPs in the smooth yellow walls, t...

Re: [JJJ19] Abbadon, the town that moves

Style: 7 This thing is beautifully chaotic. The image of this big red behemoth rolling onto the battlefield is awesome. Substance: 6 I like the multi-layered layout of the platforms and the sprinkling of little houses, but I feel like there could a little more in the realm of details such as ladders...

Re: Some miniature forces (Updated 09/06/18)

My rendition of the 45th Union has undergone some changes (both minor and major) since I last posted them, so here's an update. Please excuse the grainy photos, I try to find a balance between shooting close up and zooming, but digital zoom is horrendous so this is the result. At least I've finally ...

I already said it kn Discord, but I really like use of those grey shell pieces on the engines. Also, that thruster cluster is a thing of beauty.

Re: [BB19] USA Augmented Soldier Frame

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I think that the light bley bits would look better in dark bley, sand green, or black. Overall pretty good but I'm not sure about the color blocking with the green and grey I really like the beefy look of this guy, although I also kind of agree on the color blocking. T...

[BB19] USA Augmented Soldier Frame

Here's an entry into the 2019 Blarney Build in the Brik by Brik category. It's the fourth in a series of iterations on what has turned out to be a very versatile frame. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7927/33635143058_54df14a608_z.jpg Introducing the new armoured, augmented, and impressively muscular...

[BB19] The Watchful Frog (Drunken Madness)

Here's my entry into the 2019 Blarney Build in the Drunken Madness category. It's a bipedal mech with spotlights on it. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7901/32569385687_fd312337e7_z.jpg Why are there four spotlights pointed in pretty much the same direction? Why do the mounts for the lights have turb...

Yeah, surprising is definitely the word I would use. I'd be the first to tell you why anyone but me deserved to win, but I guess I won't argue. Congrats to everyone involved, I was really impressed with the entries in this contest. There was such a legitimate consistency of quality between all of th...

Re: Home Sweet Home [JJJ18]

Style: 8/10 The stuff with the crystal in it is properly surreal, and the interior of the ship's bridge is well done Substance: 6/10 The walls are very simple stacks of panels, but it's nothing particularly bad. The computers are cool, and the minifigs look quite good, though I can't really give any...
