I know we've had threads about CC before, but v1.0 releases today on Steam.

It's a fun little game, takes about two hours for a full playthrough. The crew mechanics are weirdly similar to the unreleased BrikWars naval rules from last century. Ship-to-ship tactical maneuvering is abstracted out completely though.

I played the crap out of that old release that was essentially free to the public. Good stuff, that Cortex Command.

Also, FTL is my greatest source of frustration. Like, seriously. I've gotten to the last stand several times, but I just can't beat that boss, even when I'm fairly well equipped.

THIS IS NOT EVEN MY FINAL FORM!

Dat boss ship el nigre is like....Cel....for Freeza...or some other ridiculous DBZ big bad guy.

I can beat the last boss with almost any equipment loadout, but you have to have your strategy planned out in advance. FTL is not forgiving if you do things in the wrong order in the first couple of seconds.

Best advice is, if you have transporters, beam a couple of guys over to take out his missile launcher as fast as possible. If you have cloaks, save them for the missile launches and "power surge detected" events. The ship has backup AI so you can't take it down by killing the crew.

What is this game exactly? It looks pretty fun, like a RTS/Terraria/Risk game?

Well, balls, that was my idea for a while there. Though I suppose fire technically still works?

I've been playing this game for a few days now and absolutely love it. It's like a space Rogue-Like/RTS/Turn-Based/Platformer/Shooter/Building/Defense game that is both very Brikwarsy at times and has a really cool backstory to it.

Are you talking about Cortex or FTL?

Fire is okay because it never hurts to take out the crew and prevent them from repairing stuff. All the weapons rooms are isolated from the rest of the ship though, so you've still got to take them out one by one.

Cortex Command. I was pretty sure that this was the thread for it and didn't bother checking the previous posts. Sorry. :D

OK
Yeah I like it too.
There is a recovery mission and you are supposed to load a guy on a ship.
You need to select the ship, then left click to activate/open the doors.
There is no instruction about that.

Also, if you take over all the mining sites and have all your brains left when all your opponents are out, you cannot end the game with a victory.
