Well, I'd hate to be the lone wolf on this, so I'll come along too.
he then chuckles to himself, like a smug bastard.

You follow the wolf tracks westwards. They slowly turn northwest, and then north. You follow the trail into a pine grove, and as you are about to leave the grove again you spot the wolf. It is sitting on top of a ridge outside the grove, about 100' away. And beside it sits a goblin.

This is a goblin.

Saucix knows that there is a goblin kingdom in the mountains to the east, but it is rather far away, and goblins rarely come this close to Eisgir.

The goblin is chewing on something that looks like a piece of raw meat, throwing bits to the wolf every now and then. Neither of them have seen you behind the trees yet.

Does he see us?

Whispered: "Prepare our ranged attacks, and we shall bring this being of the night to it's grave. When I give the word, we shall all fire at once. May sunlight shine in the darkness!"

Wielding my crossbow, I prepare for a simultaneous strike, and urge the others to follow suit.

Wicked sword he's got, there.

"Believe me, if we do not solve this problem now, it will only come to bite us in the end. Don't you think this goblin will track our footsteps in the snow? If he does, he certainly won't come alone - he'll have counted our numbers and bring 50 to face our 5."

Saucix thinks. On one hand the Goblin didn't do anything wrong. On the other hand hunters usually have dogs, and he is eating raw meat.

"What do the rest of you think?"

Adarim
Hasty action will get us killed, inaction will get us killed. It's fun, isn't it? Those of us with bows shall keep ready, lest he try to make a run for it. We should also take care to remain hidden. He who is the greatest diplomat alone shall reveal himself, and see if we can't keep peace. But one wrong move and we put several arrows in his throat and heart. That's what I think.

Saucix looks at Nisos.

"You're the best at talking, Nisos. You also seem to be fairly clever. Why don't you consort with the goblin?"

I will try, but have all your bows aimed at him and the dog, I'll be the first to admit that I'm the weakest one here, and I need you assurance that I wont be 1 hit out there.

"I am against this plan. The Goblins are a blight upon the land, and beings of the very darkness itself. Should anything go wrong, Nisos will be slain in an instant. Goblins are not to be trusted. Currently, we have the opportunity to strike like lightning - out of nowhere and with terrible efficiency. I still suggest we take it."

OOC: It's seriously just one goblin. If we fight it'll be a cakewalk. If we avoid, we're likely to have a tougher fight on our hands in the near future. Either way, sending the guy with ONE HITPOINT to talk to the goblin with a sword and alert our position to him is probably the worst idea we could possibly execute.

Saucix is hesitant to order the death of one goblin, and now even more hesitant to possibly send one of his men to his death.

"Fine then, I'll talk to the goblin."

I emerge from cover and greet the goblin as respectfully as possible.
