Re: In the Cold North - Forum RPG
Ornup was pretty big right? I examine the tracks to see which has the largest set of goblin prints.
One of you tracker types, help me deduce where the big dude went.

Ornup is dead but Fyespon was pretty big
Nisos examines the tracks. The wolf tracks going southeast seem to be more heavily impressed in the snow than the others.
Gregor scouts out the nearby area.
Rolled Dex 2+13 vs. Wis*2
Thief reroll: 10+13 vs. Wis*2
Gregor follows the tracks going northeast. As he moves quietly up a hill, peeking over the top, he spots a goblin on a wolf a few hundred yards away, on another hilltop. The goblin is riding at a slow pace from north to south, keeping watch over the surroundings. It does not seem to have noticed Gregor.

I'll return and tell the others my findings.

Gregor gets back to the group without further incident.

Re: In the Cold North - Forum RPG
So I guess you are going with Gerald's suggestion?
You go southeast following the pair of tracks, Saucix and Gerald going first and the rest of the party following some distance behind.
Gerald rolled Dex 7+10 vs. Wis*2
Saucix rolled Dex 15+13 vs. Wis*2
Gerald and Saucix rounds a rock and come face to face with the big Fyespon on a wolf and a goblin on foot, a hundred feet away.
"Razbri!" Fyespon says.

I remain hidden, ranging from the party before and behind in the scout role. In this case, I'll be coming up from behind the party but if I hear anything, I'll range around and sneak up on the situation. If I hear the sounds of battle, its a tank and flank kinda day.

"There is no need for a fight - we have already settled our disputes via combat, and I am honor-bound to uphold that truce. We come to you now as friends, travelers, and merchants. If it is a fight you want, then by the Sun I will give it to you, but I assure you that there is no need. We wish only to talk." I place my hand on my new sword shaking with nervous fear, but understanding that like the rising of the sun, my blade must inevitably meet their throats should they threaten my company.

"Hey Fyespoon, what's the deal with all of those orb things?"
This sig is too fucking large: show anyway
Re: In the Cold North - Forum RPG
"Orbs? Have you found orbs?"
Fyespon gives a toothy smile.
"We search after orbs to our queen. If you merchants have any so are we willing to pay for them."
All of this is said in a rather loud voice.

Silva you really need to learn when to keep your mouth shut.
"Have you any yourself? We found many, but I believe there are more. We want to sell as complete a set as possible of them. We suspect that they are quite valuable."

"Wait, are we talking about the same orbs? Do you have one on you that you could show us? One of my companions is carrying ours, but he is slow, and lagging behind."
He's speaking loudly. This is an ambush.

Adarim
Observe surroundings cautiously. Be ready to counter-ambush at a moment's notice. My finely tuned and keenly controlled sense of paranoia should help me notice goblins sneaking up, and I should be able to remain hidden.

Adarim, I'm gonna act like you're the one with the orbs if they question me about it by the way, but I'm going to make sure we stay on friendly terms before then.
