I go where the tanks goes when there is danger.

You go back to the locked door in the room with the glowing mushroom. Gerald inserts the goblin bracelet into the door's hole. The pins grip it, retract, and the door swings open.
A huge golden statue of a snake-headed humanoid with its arms crossed over its chest stands at the center of a large room. At the statue's base is a big pile of gold coins. On the other side of the room is another door with a bracelet sized hole.

Divvy up the coins, but take about 40% out for the Church.

I check the coins for any noticable peculiarities, and then examine the statue.
The only unflawed system is Lego System.

"And what, dear Elf, makes you think your Pakaan deserves this money more than we do? Your gods of the north are no more powerful than mine of the south, and The Sun shines over both realms. Solai's domain spreads to wherever his rays of light touch, and that includes these lands of the north. Besides, this looks too easy and I suspect a trap. Perhaps we should investigate the coins before we agree on how to split it?"Silverdream wrote:but take about 40% out for the Church.

"Who do you think is funding this mission? And I have tolerated your odd religion for a while, Pakkaan is the one true god. This money going to the church will not only benefit the religious, but everyone else. Poor will recieve this as charity, the young in far off lands will be taught how to read and write, and great marvelous architecture will spread across the earth."
"But I am not a foolish leader. I have read a tale about a group of boys who lifted money off a sunken ship, only to trigger traps based on weight, as well as a man seeking an idol and a woman and her vagrant sons. We'll find something of similiar weight before we lift it."

There are rocks of various sizes lying around the rooms and tunnels.

I check for traps.
And, if there are none, I lift a chunk of change while the two religious idiots are having it out.

Gregor leans down over the gold and examines the floor, which is smooth carved stone. He can't see any indentations that would suggest a trap, so he covertly reaches out to grab a handful of coins.
Rolled Dex 6+13 vs. Wis
No one notices 8 gold coins disappearing into Gregor's pocket.

"Alright then, same deal. 40% to Pakaan and 60% divided between us."

Gerald looks around the room to see if anyone else thinks that's a bullshit distribution.

Re: In the Cold North - Forum RPG
He can plainly see that Gregor is unhappy with it but doesn't look like he's going to argue. Knowing that scumbag as you've come to, he's probably planning to make off with a sizable chunk of it later anyway. He might even manage to do it legitimately. Which is even more disgusting. The look he seems to give you says, "hey, you can't argue with results."
