Charisma, don't fail me now... I attempt to charm the creature after placating it with red meat, hopefully without touching it or getting into bite range.

Nisos kneels down and talks to the mink in friendly words. The mink looks up. In a heartbeat, it leaps right to Nisos and -

- licks his hand.

I will pet the mink softly, and ask my companions,

Should we risk riding it, or should I just lead it outside?

Allow the beast some time to become more comfortable with you before you attempt to mount it, I should think.

The mink tears the last bits of meat from the now horribly mutilated goblin corpses.

So where are you going next?

"Nisos, try to keep the mink out of trouble while we do some exploring."

I head to the door behind us and to the right, and open it.

Alright, everyone back and to the right, don't want you to get run over by this thing.
After they move out of the way, I will attempt to lead the Mink to the entry room, where I will attempt to teach it some simple voice commands, such as coming to my call, and loyalty to myself. Other things that would be good to teach it, are more specific commands for tactical situations, and try to eliminate the annoying habit of attacking everything in sight. If needed, I can spend most of the day guarding the door and training the mink while everyone else adventures.

Adarim
I lead. It occurs to me, can I wear the shield while using the bow? Worst case, I could fasten one to the other with rope or nails or something, but that's a pretty standard thing to be able to do actually.

No and yes. On the one hand, you can't use a shield effectively while firing a bow, and it seems like a pretty heavy extra burden for the bow arm. On the other hand, I'm not going to remember to give you -1 AC whenever you are shooting a bow, so ruleswise the thing is moot. Let us both imagine whatever we prefer.

---

Training the mink to obey voice commands would probably take a long time, and be even more difficult without teaching it in a practical situation. Not something you can do in a day. What are you going to call the mink, by the way? Appa?

Saucix opens the third door in the mural room. Behind it is a narrow corridor that continues straight ahead for a bit before turning left.

I will walk down the corridor.

I'll stick around for a little bit just to make sure the mink doesn't get out of hand (and maul you while we're out scratching our asses), but once it looks like you've got it I'll go and join the rest of the party. Stick around with this, but if we need you and your spells, we'll come back for you.

Hopefully the mink doesn't resent you. I'm going to change the schedule to teaching him that humans and elves are nice, and that goblins taste good. I might name the Mink Abba, but I am open to suggestions.
