Gregor replies to Nisos in an impressed manner:
A mage? And from the Dragon School, no less! Well, I, sir, am honored to be speaking with you.

I am called Gregor Polzin. I was a trader of goods until recently, when my business hit on some rough times. I'm here seeking employment and I'm hoping to gain the capital I need to purchase some decent goods and return to the road.

Laptop battery died mid-post >.<

Gerald Longsword continues eating his breakfast amongst the discussion, but eventually replies to the Elf.

"Aye, a sellsword I be, and though I am not familiar with these lands, by the sun I shall serve my purpose. I am Gerald Longhouse, Knight of Order in service of Solai the Sun Lord. That which stands in opposition to order shall see the ugly side of justice at the end of my blade. Order has brought you to me, and though the current company seems ill-fit for a clash of arms, my presence shall unify the strength of our whole."

"But if we are to smite disorder, what shall i aim my blade at? Wherefore drives you to hire a man of my stature? These questions likely have dire answers, so if you require my diverse skill and experience, I shall require a contract and a fee. What say you, Elf?"

Adarim
To the innkeeper:
I'm just a passing traveller, so just ale will do. Nothing special, please.

To the Elf Cleric:
You're looking for a sellsword? I'm looking for a job. The more the merrier, they say, and I can promise I'll fit in your budget. What are you looking to do, though, pray tell?

Gregor says to Nisos, pointing to Saucix:
It looks as though both our problems may yet be solved, friend Nisos. Come, let's see if we can offer our talents to the Elf there.

Gregor acts:
I lead the way over to Saucix, Gerald, and Adarim, if Nisos follows.

Gregor says to Saucix, nodding and hitching his statement to Adarim's:
Oh, aye, my friend and I were just discussing the scarcity of work for travelers like us. We're also interested if you've a mind to hire more mercs, aren't we, Nisos? My friend here is a Mage and I know these parts well, having served as guide and guard in them these past several years. Ahem, in addition to being a trader of goods between the cities of the north. I cast a furtive sidelong glance at Nisos at this last.

You know, provided he's walked over with me. If not, ignore the Nisos comments.

Nisos follows the sleezy tradesman and introduces himself to the Cleric,

If you need some magical support, look no further, as a genuine graduate of the Dragon School of Vinheim, I am possibly the most qualified mage this edge of the map.

Nisos gives a knowing look at Gregor and nudges him on the shoulder

My friend here is one of the most talented storytellers that I have seen, and probably a good addition to the group in general.

He pauses for breath,

So, what do you say?

"Perfect, I'll pay you each 15 gold pieces up front, and ten more when we return safely from our journey. What we're looking for is an alabaster beast and a stone door far north of here near a rocky outcropping."

I toss a lopsided grin to Nisos in thanks.

Gregor says to Saucix, palm out:
Do you think the journey will take more than two weeks? And what should we call you, our intrepid leader?

Gregor thinks:
Hmm, a little more in that bag than I thought, unless the cleric is charitable with his portion. Well, we're in it now, Gregor.

Thinking back on his dream, Saucix estimates the distance to about 3 or 4 days of travel.

(He hasn't said this yet.)
Remus: Harry... I'm a werewolf.
Harry: Are you fucking serious?
Remus: Well yes, but I don't see how that applies here.

Adarim
That doesn't sound unreasonable. But I'd rather not dilly-dally too much, if possible.

I offer to pay you twelve now and twelve later.

Saucix then drops a gold piece on the table.

Nisos picks up the coin on the table and holds it up to Saucix.
Add that 12 to this one and we have a deal.
