Them terminators look sweet .I know some of the more hardcore painters around will disagree, but dude, get some washes and highlights onto them.

Yeah. the Washes add a sense of grime that makes it feel used. As someone who does D&D modelpainting, It looks sick.

Re: Bann154's Modelling Adventures
Official washes aren't super necessary for army level painting. Simply mix a few drops of water in with a small amount of black (or dark) paint, sponge it off the brush and go to town.
Highlights for metallics are more difficult to do, but consider drybrushing a line of light color on the edges of the models. Just a touch will go a long way at the army level presentation and really make your models pop.

I've never tried watering down the paint to make a wash, it sounds interesting, but would it still pool properly?Quantumsurfer wrote:Official washes aren't super necessary for army level painting. Re: Bann154's Modelling Adventures
It actually does surprisingly well. You just have to drybrush the excess off before it dries.

Yeah, experiment with differing ratios of water:paint and see what you can get. You want something splashy. You'll also have to experiment with how much to dab out after you've loaded your brush.
I assume you're using water based acrylics when you paint models by brush. The "official" citadel paints are just that. So watering regular paints down provides a very similar effect.

Re: Bann154's Modelling Adventures
I have been working on the P.L.E infantry since 2010, so I get about 5 lego sets a year. I still need to improve many of them and get commando units. So yeah thats how I make sure you don't end up spending too much money, you drag it out over a long period of time, though it is very very painful seeing that set you need and you have the money but you just can't buy it cos you now you can't spend it all on Lego

I have a budget of $50 a month on whatever I want. Sometimes that is Lego, sometimes it is alcohol.TastySkippy123 wrote:I have been working on the P.L.E infantry since 2010, so I get about 5 lego sets a year. Nice one. From what I can see in the picture, it seems like you did some good detail work there.
