Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Thats right everyone, time for another game review with yours truly.

After some smack talk, teasers and a nice warm welcome from the videogame community in the E3 expo, ION Storm and EIDOS are decided to revive this legendary PC game!

Image

After a major fail with Deus Ex: Invisible War (the sequel to the original), due the pressure of making the same game for various platforms, the god out of (meaning of the latin name, deus ex) is willed to avenge its primordial brother. The lead developer (Jean-François) already gave us some info on this new saga. The year is 2027, and despite of also being of the same genre and on planet Earth, DE:HR has a completely different story-line then DE 1, yeah, so bye bye JC Denton.

Image

The setting: The whole game is pretty much about the pros and cons of human augmention (cybernetic implants). Ethical and scientific problems emerge all over the globe, bringing revolutions and uprisings to come.
The player plays has a security expert, Adam Jensen, that works for a augmention mega corporation. In the beginning of the game, he looses both his arms due an assault made by a mysterious organization with unknown purposes... Jensen life changes after he receives two new cyber implanted arms. Cyber upgrades and gadgets have a big impact on the game, and player choices influence the end of the game.
Adam then devotes himself to search and track evidences of big-scale conspiracies that might change the world has we travel through many places on the world like the USA (Detroit) and China...

Great new graphical work was a must, olders PCs will have troubles with performance and image quality...

As always, the player can use various weapons and tactics to avoid or terminate resistance and vigilance. Stealth will play a big part on gameplay, since FPS view switches to 3rd Person view so that Adam can have a peek around corners and overall more attention to his surroundings.

The game is being developed for the 3 main platforms: PC, XBox 360 and PS3.
Im anxious and very excited for playing this rebirth of Deus Ex, I hope the team wont let us down! Because many new FPSs are coming up and competition was never so fierce...

Pleasure sharing this upcoming legend with you guys, see ya till the next big hit! 8)

This is marketing gold because it has "sex" right in the title.

As I understand it, this is going to be a prequel of sorts to DE1, set right around the time JC Denton is being born. You're a prototype for later cyborgs like Gunther Hermann and Anna Navarre.

Well, he certainly has better looking augs then Gunther or Anna... but there are no signs of Page Corp. or UNATCO, or even NSF I think

Actually, the article in August's Playstation magazine said it took place 20 years before the original.

Yup.
I read on a review site that the devs don't want the pirates to feel like criminals. So they are doing a new form of sales. The game will be free and if you like it you can hit a PayPal donate button and give them what you felt the game was worth or even more if you want. One of them was joking that money was overrated and you could bake cookies and send them to the company address as payment.

I think its great that developers who can innovate with game play can also be creative when it come to selling!

WARNING: WHEN I WAS A LAD STORY IMMANENT!!! In my day we played chappy or crapbag'a'light and it never cost anything to play, or Man-Hunt, dead mans fall, muck bomb or occasional rock throwing at other kids or any of the other kids games we used to play in the wreckage of the demolished housing estates of my youth. Setting fires could maybe set you back about 70p for the bottle of turpentine but was well worth the effort. Or if you disliked the Urban pursuits you could take to the fields and head-butt a badger for fun. It was all free.
