It's construct. Also, the sprites are not mine, but they're what I think the earth guys should be based off of.

Only a few days in and I'm already looping back on my old ideas and revamping. This is gonna be a long project.

Anyway, old or new?

I dunno, the new seems more detailed, but I like the old color scheme better. If you're out of ideas, you could work on the top down sprites.

I'm thinking we need:
At least three factions, each with:

Mothership/Station
Resource Gatherers
Fighters
Transports
etc.

We also need asteroids, planets, and other 'terrain'.

I've got some leftover planets, starscapes, and nebulas from older projects, along with some other scraps. I'll post those tomorrow for public consumption. Hell, you might even recognize some of it.

The ship on the bottom right of thade's post reminds me of a space 1999 eagle. Oh yeah, for fun, an unlockable extra could be a fleet of space ships from sci-fi movies/tv series, maybe make them a little different if you intend to sell/copyright the game. Oh, and make sure it has lots of eyecandy and explosions and flak cannons and tracers and ridiculously huge laser cannons and lots and lots of bullets/lasers flashing all over the place.

Okay, I've got turrets working, but I can't get them to be in different places and ships. not really sure how to.

Sounds like your average programming project to me. All things considered, this is great progress!

I'll get to work on the various factions in the game; fleshing those out will help me to design the ships. Mind if I split the Human and Xenos factions into two or three separate factions for more variety? Right now, the choices in my head seem kinda vanilla.

sounds good to me. I'm gonna take a break now, because it just occured to me that I have a powerful need to eat sometime this month. After that, programming again. I think I have an idea.

Sometimes I'm glad to have a crazy programmer on my side... this would definitely be one of those times. Cheers, man, cheers.

There are plenty of shirts that convey that message. You should frequent ThinkGeek.com more often.

Yeah, haven't been on in a while, not like I could afford anything there, anyway...

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen.

Anywho, I just finished some of my make up work for today (I was out due to some staggering nausea), so I'll get to work on writing up those factions in a bit.

Huh. I usually only get staggering nausea when i'm in school. Can't wait to hear about the factions, not much progress on my side. :?
