Star Wars: Empire At War cracks me up.... it could be in 2D and have the same gameplay. What? Space battles? Nope, those are on a flat plane too.

The better one is the Full 3D or Sprite one.

Full 3D example: War Of Empires
Sprite example: Europa Universalis

I absolutely love EU.

that's the absolute highest setting it goes on. so no *major* worries about not being able to run it. however if you CAN get the good settings up and running, it may look something like...

yeah, if you're getting it (either the original or the expansion, and yes, the expansion is a standalone game), you've got lots and lots of patches to download. keep in mind it downloads em automatically, but it takes a while.

Tzan, glad to see you got it working! do you play online? if so, i'm totally down for arranged team 2v2s. or just one on one if you feel like losing >_>

Once I'm finished "obtaining" my copy, I'm up for some online.

no you're not. they've got really tight security on their online play, and you need a unique CD key to do ANYTHING in that game (and the game automatically connects to the internet the second it starts, so you can't even just say "screw it" and just play the campaigns, either). unless you're buying a copy, you're out of luck.

Damn. I guess I'll get the demo then, and if I really like I'll have to buy it.

I've never played online with this game. I finished Opposing Fronts last year in October. So I'm way out of practice. Since I only play solo I use the pause button all the time. So I would just get stomped online.

I think the only game I played online with was Unreal Tournament 2004, back in 2004. We also played that in the office at Turbine at the end of the day.

I don't really know about you people; but I like to watch people slaughter each other, and Rise of Nations is where I do that, it uses sprites, and therefore I think sprites are best. Wow that's a long sentence.

I love Homeworld2... it's 3D in space :D

I don't think it matters a whole lot. I have a soft spot for well-made sprites (GBA <3) but 3D is good too.
