Tyranids or Necrons would be my first choice if I played.

If I played 40K I would play Orks or Tyranids, although I made this choice purely on how they looked and might play and entirely different faction depending on the play style they require.

I nearly started playing Tau about 6 years ago.
Then I realized how much time and money that would consume.
Then I looked at my Lego collection and thought: Why not play table top with lego figures?
Some years later I found brickwars. And loled.
In my opinion it has all the pros and none of the cons.

Exactly. and if you really must play WH40K you can use lego's to make the factions!knolli wrote:I nearly started playing Tau about 6 years ago.

I personally find this particular video game to look ridiculous. And not in a funny way, in a "wow, people actually go for this" way. I like 40k fluff and universe, but this? No.
Also, play with Lego, not minis. I picked up a fair number of minis while I was away (not 40k, but a variety), and Legos are more fun, more adaptable, and more comedic.
Play Brikwars!
(like I'm one to talk, haven't played a game in ages...)
Carry on.

I haven't played a game of 40k in a looong time. I still kept the minis, mostly because they're pretty awesome, and I'm planning to finish some of them.
When I did play, I played Tau and then Dark Angels (which, due to my leaving my codex at another store, led to me playing the updated Space Marine codex, which pretty much killed off the stuff that made Dark Angels so special in the first place).
Speaking of overpowered, have you seen the new Grey Knights codex? The minis are great, though.

I'd bet they have an option to turn that off.
I like shooters and 40k. I think this is the first 40k shooter.

Relevant!
Glasses there is the 40k player who wants to play Brikwars, but has no idea it exists.

I play Orks for a couple reasons:
I like to have a lot of minis, plain and simple. I have only been playing again for a few months but I have 50 boys plus bikes, a truck and nobz.
I like the painting possibilities. While they do all have to be green, everything else is up in the air.
I like the play style. While I ALWAYS play a tank in any game (Paladins!) I actually like the guerrilla fast attack style of the Orks combined with their superior numbers.
Plus they're way more butch than the goddamn space marines.
