I'm sorry for forgetting my orders.

I'd like to take the weapon of our dead team member and use it to shoot at the red knight if it is still alive.

Prisoners (ninja_bait):
ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
The miners approach the remaining prison guard and throw all their utensils at him. Without doing any damage though.
Prison Guard: "DIDN'T I JUST SAY NO WRONG MOVES?!"
In response, he tries to shock Sosabowski but misses the general.

ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
The other prisoners pick up the red keycard and head towards the remaining cells.

Wierzbowski (RedRover):
ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
Wierzbowski sprints towards the prison guard in order to bind him in close combat and separate him from the general.

Dr Etanol (Texhnophille):
ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
Doc sprints towards Lufa in an effort to revive him.

Torpeda (motorhead fan):
ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
Since the Red Knight is already dead, Torpeda picks up the next best weapon and heads towards the cavern.

Prison Guards (me):
ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
Since the guard already used his shock staff, he picks up the pick axe and strikes at Wierzbowski. He would have dealt one HP damage, if it wasn't for the -1 damage penalty on improves weaponry.

ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
The commando retaliates by slicing him into pieces. The evil has been defeated!

ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
But what's this? Could it be some sort of key? Maybe it could be helpful in freeing the general...

ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
Stanisław Sosabowski: "Good job, son. Now, let's get out here!"
And indeed, the key lifted the chains from the general freeing him at long last. After two years of imprisonment, General Stanisław Sosabowski can finally return to his recently unified home country!

Final Kills:
ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
Poles and Prisoners: 27 kills
Prison Guards: 6 kills

Magda Pierunska - 0/3 HP
Wierzbowski (Commando) - 3/3 HP
Dr. Etanol (Medic) - 2/3 HP
Laska (Melee Specialist) - 3/3 HP
Lufa (Sniper) - 0/3 HP
Torpeda (Heavy) - 3/3 HP

Jurgis Adamkus - 0/3 HP
Red Knight: 0/2 SP

FINAL OVERVIEW
ImageThe Prisoner - Turn 6
Due to the total elimination of the prison guards and guaranteeing the safety of the general, the mission has been successfully accomplished!

Thank you guys for playing! I hope you had lots of fun with this battle. Feel free to leave any suggestions for the next commando-style battle in the future. An epilogue will be posted soon.

Bravo. Excellent. :tiger: Wierzbowski mvp!

The way the battle was presented was top notch. Funny moments, as well. The commandos all had their unique abilities and appeal. I now feel inspired to do another commandos forum battle myself with my inquistadore commandos but I don't have space to set it up.

I had a lot of fun playing the badass Magda and I hope this isn't the last we see of her. Sometimes I got unlucky, but it could've gone worse too, and in general I succeeded in my plan of tanking damage for the squad and keeping them alive. My goal was to bring home full numbers, and I would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for that meddling knight! :fist:

I would've liked to survive at least a little longer (missing my OTC rampage and my plan for freeing Sosabowski feels like a missed opportunity :( ), I feel we got really lucky with all the failed / missed attacks on Sosabowski! But eh, sometimes you can't have it all, and the casualties show we at least faced decent opposition. Maybe only 2 HP per trooper would've forced us to be more tactical.

The challenge of 'commando' battles is that it's kinda hard to coordinate the team. You want to get your orders in, but you're also not always around to communicate with each other. Like the prisoners running off with the OTC (which they didn't even end up using  ) could've been avoided, but it's hard to do that and keep everything going smoothly as well. In the beginning we supported each other, afterwards, everyone was more doing their own thing. Not sure how to get around that, and not sure if it matters since it was still fun, but it's something I'm still looking for an answer to.

Maybe teams of about 3 figs each that are more spread out, but still working towards a common goal, could be something you could go for.

edit: also, if players ask for something that is not possible (I assume my feat to heal Magda didn't go through 'cos it doesn't fit her cliché or something or that kicking the guard through the prison door wasn't possible) or becomes impossible due to prior actions you could make them aware and give us a chance to amend orders. Not while you're already processing the turn, I wouldn't wait for that then, either, but potentially when you're still waiting for other people's orders.

Re: The Prisoner [EPILOGUE]

Postby Duerer » Mon Aug 13, 2018 9:54 am

ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Kapitan Wierzbowski: "Glad to see you safe and sound again, general!"
Stanisław Sosabowski: "Took you long enough, boy. What did hold you all back from helping me out of here?"
Torpeda: "There is no time for any convo, now! Two of our men are down and the next wave of guards will be here for sure! We gotta get out of this prison, ASAP!"

ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Kapitan Wierzbowski: "Wait, what happened?!"
Torpeda: "Lufa and the commodore are hit and require medical attention! No clue about their exact condition!"

ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Kapitan Wierzbowski: "Oh, good thing the doc's at it, already!"
Stanisław Sosabowski: "Magda! What in the world happened to her?"
Dr Etanol: "Good thing I haven't used any of my liquor yet. Both of them are in a stable condition but still unconscious! We should head back to the ship and treat them there."

ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Stanisław Sosabowski: "OK, but how do we get there with the guards on full alert?"
???: "No need to worry, man!"

ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Leonas Žemaitis: "With the warden death and some of my man already freed, finishing off the guards at the top floor should be a piece of cake?"
Kapitan Wierzbowski: "And you are...?"
Stanisław Sosabowski: "Oh, this is Leonas. He leads a local rebel army yet was unfortunate enough to get caught and landed in here. Seems like it was his lucky day after all, as the guards wanted to execute him later on, today."

ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Leonas Žemaitis: "Yup, guess it's only natural that we return the favour by stirring up some unrest up there! In the meantime, you should be able to make it to your ship!"
Kapitan Wierzbowski: "We're counting on you guys. Until then..."

On board of the Polish rescue ship
ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Magdalena Pierunska: "*wakes up* Oww, my back... what the hell happened?"
Dr Etanol: "Don't overdo yourself yet! You're still not fully healed."

ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Magdalena Pierunska: "Where are we?"
Dr Etanol: "We are back on board of our ship. Some guy whacked his beamsabre at your back and inflicted quite some burns, nothing life threatening though."
Magdalena Pierunska: "And the general?! Is he OK at least?"

ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Stanisław Sosabowski: "I'm fine, thanks to your efforts."
Magdalena Pierunska: "General Sosabowski! Thank goodness, you're safe. Argh..."

ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Stanisław Sosabowski: "Careful there. You really shouldn't push yourself too hard."
Magdalena Pierunska: "I know but... now that we broke into their prison they will know about our presence here and won't hesitate launching these bio-missiles on Kaunas. Some forces have been immediately smuggled to the planet surface but will they make it in time?"

ImageThe Prisoner - Epilogue
Stanisław Sosabowski: "I know. I've seen prototypes of these missiles with my own eyes. However, we need to put our faith into these women and men. If they succeed in taking down these missiles, nothing will stand in our way of liberating this country from that madman Blinda."
Magdalena Pierunska: "True that. Let's hope for a quick end to this madness..."

Biohazard missile? I like Weedkiller Boogaloo, but bioweapon kind of dictates something with more oomph! Like Brick-melter Boogaloo or something...

Seriously though, this was loads of fun! Might be more fun if you could set up a bunch of two- or three-minifig teams for each player and let us duke it out in different parts of the board.
