Round 5: http://www.brikwars.com/forums/viewtopi ... 16&t=12272
I'm going to take it Colette no longer wants to play the Chicken Man, so I'm just going to go ahead. Fortunately, the chicken man is not essential to the plot.
Round 6
Welcome to the round where the dice go crazy.
1. Crimson Knights - Battlegrinder
$
Cassandra successfully creates a shadow bridge over the chasm, allowing her forces to cross.
The critical manner of her success allows her men on the other side to cross the distance directly.
Attacks from the infantry, Cassandra and iron grannie best only one spearman.
2. Inferno's minions - Zahru II (continuing from last turn's orders)
With some amazing rolls the fire wraith defies the odds, slaying both his assailants with one terrible blow.
3. Woad Elves - Scratch
The warbands keep chucking spears at the iron grannie, but they're not very good at it.
The others scale the slope and run after the fleeing crimson knights.
Hunters charge the fire wraith, but he parries the damage and stands his ground.
Landor throws multiple weapons at the dark elves rapidly.
"Thanks."
Failing a feat for the first time, Landor accidentally makes the dark elves even stronger as they catch the weapons he threw at them for later use.
The final elite rushes in and tries to kill the fire wraith.
But again rolling crit after crit, the fire wraith not only survives, but also kills the elite with fire damage.
Tired of this crap, Landor charges in and manages to kill the fire wraith after a fierce battle, beating his armour by only 1 point.
4. Rangers - Brikguy
Miranda looks over the devastation of her troops and the relentless undead advancing towards her position, realizing that there is no hope.
"Spirits... If there is any good left in the world, deliver us from this evil..." she whispers.
Coincidentally or not, Splotcha, the first Dungan paladin, happens unto the battle but a moment later. An unsung hero, Splotcha has learned the ways of the light fighting the undead that haunt these forests and have nearly driven the Dungan population to extinction (undead Dungans, anyone?). He's a champion and his powers include Dungan powers and the power of the Light. His trusty Roeispaan has crushed many undead, it looks like a heavy weapon but counts as a large weapon (critically successful feat!).
5. Dragon Knights - Alex
Garth: "Cassandra, why do we fight? These undead are controlled by elves who wish to eradicate us, humans. The dark elf I trailed here told me so! Junatan is in league with them too, he is fooling you all! Tell your men to stand down before it's too late!"
Cassandra: "Hahaha... Hahahaha! Naive fool, they don't seek to eradicate us, they seek to keep our population in check, and those who aid them will reap the benefits."
Garth: "Should've known... You knew all along! But the jokes' on you, Cassandra. You're human, too. These elves will destroy you and turn you into one of their creatures just as well!"
Cassandra: "That's where you are wrong, infant. I am more than human. It's a shame your friend Xalen isn't here to save you, he might have drilled some sense into that naive head of yours. Without him, you're nothing. Even if you are victorious today, the odds you face are insurmountable. You might as well surrender."
Garth: "Surrender?"
"You never understood us dragon knights very well. Well here's a lesson. We don't surrender."
"EVER!"
*chunk*
Cassandra: "AAARGH!"
Impaled, the commander of the crimson knights falls over backwards, gasping for breath, but still alive (1 HP). (You guessed it - super critically successful feat!)
"Pull it out... Someone... Pull it out!" Cassandra gasps through laboured breaths. She's immobilized until someone removes the pike from her.
Meanwhile the battle rages on. In a terrible display of incompetence, both sides don't even manage to scratch one another. I know these platforms aren't really suited to guys with polearms but come on guys, (I know there's a rule that says they have to be able to touch the enemy with the blade of their weapon, but ) .
Even the elite can't get rid of his adversary.
6. Dark Elves - Silverdream (I don't believe I received your orders)
The dark elves rush in and prove their deadliness. The woad elves manage to parry the first round of attacks but not the second, the hunters falling and Landor taking a point of damage from the relentless warriors. Landor is the only woad elf left standing on this side of the field; Splotcha is going to have his work cut out for him.
The undead giant tries to break through the wall so the undead can take a shortcut to go assist the outnumbered crimson knights. It doesn't work out as planned. The wraith mage, inspired by all the critical successes this round has had, decides to try and blast right through the wall.
He rolls two '1's and implodes.
Content with blasting the enemy from this position, the grave wraiths keep using their head gems on the rangers. The light ranger survives, Miranda takes another hit - two headshots, ouch! (1 HP)
One is even audacious enough to try and kill Landor. Despite some good rolls, it doesn't stand much of a chance against a hero on its own.
