1: the battle field not getting "acidently" destroyed.
2: a decent size.
3: good pictures (about the only thing holding me back)
4: the person running it getting turns up fast
5: the players getting orders in fast.
7: some form of objectives seem to be good.

practice takeing pictures, make sure you have a camara with the flower button, make sure the camara can take more than 20 pictures before running out of battery.

haha, that last one is always a pain in the ass

I usually have to turn the camera off between pics, especially when there are a lot of die rolls and what not

 Eh?!. :( Why? I've never finished mine either mate (my one and only so far). Didn't you know? So far I have grand plans and a Lego project in mid construction that my wife gives me grief for so starting is turbulent unless I finish building soon. At least you have given it a shot, I've still to get anything done yet which is why I'm no expert.

I've not done one.
I've built battle field with grand plans twice, only to find my camara is designed for takeing "that ONE special picture" that practicaly sums it up, you get 5 pictures per 2 doubleA batterys!

What I'm wondering is how you get replies in the topics you post the turns/days/rounds/ect.
Looking for Vancouver Island players: http://www.brikwars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1194

It has to be awesome.

For example, cool effects, or a good story. Or being AWESOME.

Get pictures of the battlefield and armies BEFORE making a thread. It is a recipe for disaster if the person makes a thread that says "Oh, I'm doing a forum battle. Here are the teams, pick one and I'll post pictures later."

1. You can't tell if the pictures are going to be horrible quality which will ruin the awesomeness of the forum battle. They are made to be seen online, if it's blurry it's not gonna work.
2. Most of these threads end up being canceled the next few days. If the battlefield is already made, this won't be as big of a problem.

I'm not sure this is the greatest idea but you could get the personal IM addresses of all the people playing. That way if they miss and order instead of letting things grind to a halt you could bug them to send you some orders.
