Round 3

Amazingly, I got this round done while it was on low battery from the start. I was confident it was going to die a second before the pictures were uploaded but it didn't =) (I can't load it unless I have the other camera to switch the battery with). So if it seems a little rushed compared to past rounds, that's the reason.

Lt. Kirsten's Eagle - Lord Mercat

The Eagle managed a 360° turn in order not to get too close to the Darkstar and keep up it's speed. Such is the advantage of smaller ships. It's shots dealt a little more damage this time, but the Darkstar's shields stood firm.

Col. Sharane's Darkstar - Ham

The Mastercutor was fired upon by the main plasma weapon and almost took a hit as Sharane successfully increased the damage, but even so the armoured side proved strong enough.

Seras then fired the wormhole projector though...

The Mastercutor survived unharmed thanks to a miraculous shield roll, but the drawback of that was that the Assyrians took more damage. 2 SP remain :?

Finally the Terrorkhan fired upon the Eagle with the main turrets, but Lt. Kirsten increased the shields and maneuvered past the shots, avoiding what would have been a nasty hit for the Eagle.

The final fighter tried to take out a Mobhunter, but missed.

Eager for revenge, the fighters flew full speed back towards the Santiago. Hey guys, don't you think it would be better to take out those fighters? Um, guys...?

Admiral Santiago's Knight of Santiago - me

The Knight turned a bit and opened up with nearly everything it had on the Mastercutor's 'unarmoured' side. Autolasers, turrets and main weapon all fired. A missile would have been added if Santiago had succeeded his feat, but he failed and it jammed.

The Mastercutor's shields couldn't digest it all and took a hit (4 SP remain).

And now I'm going to get a little bit fucked over because of how I phrased my orders and the fact the Assyrian vessel changed position. My fighters tried to take out an EMP tower, but they failed and it repaid one of them in kind.

The bombers left the bays and tried to join with them, which brought them in range of one of the Mastercutor's AFT's.

The Mastercutor was not amused and turned on the Dragonhead with all it had.

Missiles, increased damage anti-matter laser and turrets all bombed into the Dragonhead. This is why I tried to increase my shields earlier (the pilot failed me, he should've been strapped to the hull as a living shield, lol). The Knight of Santiago was knocked down to 2 SP and it's newly repaired double missile launcher destroyed by an explosion.

The bombers took a barrage from the 3 AFT's that were in range. Executioner-craft is typically a little bit tougher than other craft though, and they both survived.

The Mastercutor's fighters took out the last Immortal strike fighter.

They then flew over here. Hmm, I wonder what they're up to...

A Mk. 2 missile misfired, and the Eagle only just held on against the main weapon thanks to it's momentarily increased shields.

Venus-class Destroyer 'Sargon II' - Natalya

Skarr's feat to increase accuracy failed (wtf?). The EMP turrets and main turret fired, but the first missed and the other just wasn't so effective against the Dragonhead on the other side of the Mastercutor.

The Assyrians nearly bored into the Darkstar when they opened up with their hyper phase cannon. A pilot crit-failed firing a torpedo launcher on his first go, so he fired two others.

Taking such a barrage at this range is not healthy. The Darkstar has 2 remaining SP, and the exploding torpedoes did what the Eagle had been trying all game: the wormhole projector was no more. At this range two of the Darkstar's AFT turrets could fire though, and they dealt the Assyrians another hit, bringing the Venus down to her last SP.

If your rolls continue to be so explosive, I'm afraid by the time the Britannians enter the fray the will only be able to inspect the debris :lol:
