It looks a little to dull to be an acidthrower. It needs some big green tanks or something to really have that look.
I agree with Battlegrinder that the weapon looks like a flamethrower more than an acid thrower (something I plan to remedy later on with different colours or a whole new backpack), but Colette is very fond of acid and it fits with the army's attitude. It's much more sciencey to use a compound to break down a person with acid instead of fire.
Pah, flamethrowers and acid throwers are so blasé.
The Trattorian army uses chlorine trifluoride throwers. This wonderful chemical will ignite air, sand, asbestos, gravel, concrete, fire extinguishers, test engineers and practically everything. It is a better oxidizer than oxygen. It can be stored in steel, copper, and nickel containers only due to the formation of a thin metal fluoride film, but spraying a stream of it at a target made of said metals would likely disrupt said film anyway and react with it.
Did I mention, that it explodes violently with water, yielding hydrochloric acid (one of the strongest acids) and hydrofluoric acid (one of the most corrosive) vapors into the air, to further chemically disintegrate whatever remains of the charred bodies of enemy soldiers?
The only thing is, you might want to give said chlorine-trifluoride trooper full body armor.
