Re: Some miniature forces
@Apollyon: The base of the backpack is one of these, with some claw pieces attached to the bars. The arms are clipped onto those, and some random bits are stuck onto the studded part.
@Theblackdog: If/when we finally get a Toronto battle to happen, these guys might see some action. I'll have trouble choosing which forces to use, though.
@Zupponn: Yeah, I figure that if he's knocked forward, the arms stop him from falling, and the boosters will kick in when he's knocked back.
The aerospace craft was petty fun to build. the most challenging part was trying to get the sides of the cockpit follow the slant of the windscreen piece. I really want a Galaxy Patrol figure so I can give the pilot a real face, and because the dark blue parts could work well in this force. I think I might have to go minifig hunting soon. I'm also tempted to Bricklink the parts for more infantry, but

Re: Some miniature forces
Thanks! I had been trying to make a claw with those blade pieces for a while, so you can imagine my excitement when I found how perfectly the ray gun worked.RunsWithLegos wrote:There is NPU all over the damn place! my favorite so far is the dreadknight's claw!
By the way, I updated the post on the previous page with better pictures of the Space Navy. You'll also notice some new stickers on the aerospace craft, which I feel stupid for not using in the first place. I'm in the process of uploading some more stuff, so I'll add them to the OP when it's all finished.

Re: Some miniature forces
Double post, because more stuff.
Two new forces!
This one is pretty much just all of my Arctic minifigs put together. The green guys are basic troops, the blue guy is some sort of specialist (officer? no idea what to do with him), the red girl is a pilot, the red guy is a medik the black guy is a hero (Arctic expedition leader cliché), and the polar bear is a polar bear. I have another green guy, but I can't find his hood. I'm planning on making an exploration vehicle for them full of orangey goodness in the spirit of the old sets.
This is their snow bike. It has a harpoon gun on either side.
This is a WIP of the bear god they worship, who I'm probably just going to call Ursus or something. He had a giant pickaxe, because why not.
This is a bad picture of some east Asian-inspired demonic swordsmen. I need to learn how to change the auto-focus settings on this camera.
This is their hero (demonic samurai cliché) and his two bodyguards.
Here's yet another WIP of a supernatural creature. I figure it's not a real Asian demon army if you don't have a dragon. Continuing with this theme, I'm going to make a small siege weapon for them with one of these on the front.
Whaddya think?

Nice Zahru you're working on. The snow bike is also pretty clever.

I like where this thread is going.

Am I the only one who thinks aoffan is one of the best MOCers around here?

Thanks for the comments, people. I really want to finish Ursus, but I've used up alot of white cheese slopes on a building I recently finished, I might have to stock up on some more. I do have a lot of reddish brown cheese slopes lying around though, so I could always just give him more armour. Sorry, I mean armoor. I don't think I have enough red pieces to finish the dragon, so it might just be the head. I also originally wanted the snow bike to be a snowmobile, but I couldn't figure out how to get the tread on the back, and the skis didn't look good.
I know a lot of you are probably expecting a forum battle out of this. Well, we'll see. There's no chance of it happening before my midterms, so even if it does happen it will be a while.

Nope, other than Dr. X I can't think of any with your skill. Brickviller could beat you in any sort of Tank building and Blackdog's ships would be tough to beat in terms of looks and practicality, but overall you're a damn good builder.

@Keldoclock:
@Silva: D'awwww.
In all seriousness though, I just thought that was a good chance to have a good laugh at myself.
Anyway, staying on topic: I finished a buggy my Arctic dudes last night, I'll get a picture at some point.
