My MF0 creations

Post by CADmonkey » Wed Jan 29, 2014 10:53 am

Hi all:

I thought I'd start a thread to show off and talk about my little Lego creations for Mobile Frame Zero, since others have done the same here. And besides, it's not like these creations can't be used in BrikWars anyways.

Here's my first complete Frame Company: The Bright Seraphim, a United Mars Foreign Legion Company who, after a long tour of duty, have an eclectic mix of UMFL-standard Frames and modified labour Frames.

Here's a group shot of the company in the field:

An ST-07 Chub:

A modified Chub:

I'm not entirely satisfied with this frame. I think I'm going to rebuild it as a regular ST-07 and use those arms on another frame.

A couple of Conscripts:

These are actually the first two frames I ever made, repeatedly modified over the years. These date back to the "Mechaton" era, and I'll probably be modifying them again, maybe into Commissars.

And finally, four Space Marines:

These guys also date back to "Mechaton" and they've been pretty heavily modified since I first built them, I think they may each have six parts in common with their original builds now. These guys are a little small compared to most frames, but I love the design. I'm tempted to start calling them "Power Armours" (because of the inspiration for their current form) and treat each pair as a single Frame.

I really like the ST-07s, particularly the modified one. The color scheme suits them well.

These are quite nice. I enjoy the terrain in the background as well.

Ah yes, Mechaton! It's great to see that your Company actually has a past in another Lego-based mech combat game, it kinda gives them that veteran status. Very cool builds!

Made an edit to the description of The Bright Seraphim above, and I'm adding pictures of a couple of new Frames from my demo teams:

The frames themselves are really good, but the thing that bugs me is how the weapons they carry just don't seem to fit quite right.

I haven't been keeping this thread up to date.

Took some photos of my demo teams over a year ago:

I really like these, I'd seen MF0 mentioned before but never really knew what it was. These are awesome designs, I especially like the Hot Rod frames, and your new Logger!

I've recently made some changes to that twin fusion edge armed Chub. Here's my best shot from this morning's quickie photoshoot:

Image
Sokokunst Master by Bryan Rombough, on Flickr
ST-07 Chub piloted by a devotee of Sokokunst, the Mobile Frame martial art.  Equipped with a staff bearing two amplified fusion edges.

I've gone a little "space opera"-ey with this build: the pilot is so devoted to Sokokunst that the only equipment they'll use is a double fusion edge staff, which they use both offensively & defensively (think of the story of Tajima the arrow-cutter).
