Immortal Empire: The Omega Legion
When the fleet sent to detain the Warhead shard called Omega defected to him, Immortal High Command chose to bring him into the fold. Now, he and his men are the spearhead of the Immortal invasion force.
My thoughts behind the basic troop design is that these are the standard soldiers of the imperial armies, while the black-suited or hodgepodge guys that most people use for immortal soldiers are specialists or raider groups.
The Omega Shard
himself, flanked by his admiral, the mortal Bram
and his supervisor, Commandant Steele
The Omega Shard:
To Immortal High Command, the Omega Shard is uncouth, an ingrate, and arrogant to the point of recklessness. The the men who serve under him, he is a leader worth following.
Bram, Imperial Strategos:
The Omega Shard's top Lieutenant dictates overall strategy for the Omega Legion.
The one-eyed Immortal Steele reports directly to Immortal High Command, and is likely all that keeps the Omega Shard in check.
Other Imperial Heroes. From Left to right, Crixton Var
, The Huntress
, and an Assassin, who I think will be called Petra
. It needs time.
Crixton Var, Imperial Colossus:
They told the Colossus that strapping a mortar to his back was insane, but. . . well. . . uh. . .
No target is too large when a chance at immortality is on the line.
Petra the Assassin:
"Something's in the base. Secure the commander. Now!"
"We're too late."
Specialized soldiers: A Venator
, a Centurion
, and a Pyroclast
. As the Centurions old machine gun kept critfailing, I have outfitted him with a projection rifle(a 2-shot grenade launcher)
Experts in sabotage and subterfuge, Venators bring down the biggest enemy targets.
An officer of sorts, a Centurion leads by example.
The destruction of enemy fortifications is key to an Imperial victory.
you know and love.
"They're not breaking! Why aren't they breaking?"
are heavy assault infantry with advanced thruster packs.
Analysis indicates that the Volanti armor system was originally developed for exoatmospheric use. However, it has seen action everywhere form hazardous environments to high-rises.
, the most common soldier of the Immortal Empire.
"Their only tactic seems to be a slow advance. The problem is, they're really good at it."
While the Prowler is less nimble than it appears, the twin flechette cannons mean few stick around to find out.
This was honestly a five-minute build done after the gunship.
I'm satisfied with it.
An Imperial defeat was quickly turned into an Assyrian rout with the help of some repurposed farming equipment.
Honestly all that's changed is that the operant now has a small screen hanging from the roof.
The gold standard in infantry support, the Stalker can follow Legionnaires wherever the path is large enough, and widen it when it isn't.
No changes since last time, other than that I moved a round slide tile under the legs.
The often-in-need-of-a-reload flechette cannon.
The often-critfailing mortar.
Mortar tube detail.
The awkward shape belies the grace with which the Reaper moves.
The "Spider eyes" motif is present on this vehicle as well.
As is the usual flechette cannon.
Two guided missile tubes give the Reaper more killpower.
This thing took around four hours to build.
Originally it was to be a far larger dropship. Only the engine pods remain of that first iteration.
Fits two operants.
Not the best seating arrangement though.
