My modern army

Post by G2 » Fri Jan 18, 2008 4:56 pm

Hey all, I thought that I would share some pictures of my modern-day army. I am still working on building vehicles for them using 'real' Lego, but here are a few pictures.

Once you build all of that, it'll be even more aweseom than it already is. And that's pretty awesome. What you need are moar missiles!

Is there an official name or part number for those torsos and helmets?
Looks good, about as close as you can get I think.

With the torso, you will need to get green arms and swap them.

The green bike helmet is a good solution, I like that. I should point out that BrickArms and BrickForge both also have military helmets, if you don't mind custom pieces, although they're pricey ($1-$1.50 each).

I've actually never seen such a large force all color-coordinated with each other. Good work!

The black and green sport helms sell for $.99 to $1.25 on BrickLink. You can get other colors for half that price.
So maybe Brickarms is not too bad, although the color wont match.

The torso sells for around $.14

I don't have any black helmets, but I think may get a few, so I can make some special ops guys.

Don't forget that you need green arms as well.

Yikes.
Got enough guns to supply them all?

Now then, build them a command bunker. One that they can all defend at once.

Actually I don't have enough guns. But sometime soon, I will be making a big purchase from Brickarms, so that my poor soldiers can actually defend themselves.

This sounds like a great idea. I might just do that. :D

One question about that silo... I can't identify those red bits on top of the cylinder pieces. What are those?

they're the base of minifig joysticks/antennas. they've got the stick part taken out, and then they're placed on top of those 1x1 grey pins with one end that's about half length. what's great about these rockets, is that they're removable; they fit into the hollow chamber of those 1x1 cylinders, and function as excellent firing chambers (so you can actually "launch" the rockets!)

These are actually the Electric, Light Bulb Cover, which is actually only available in transparent colors.

But since I am using a cad program, I have made them an opaque (instead of transparent) red.
