The imperial 204th Mobile Assault Company

Image
general overwatch, the 204th mechanized company consists of roughly 130 (50 of which not included in current, not yet updated, overwatch) soldiers and supporting personnel and is part of the 22nd expeditionary fleet aka ‘The men who make destiny’
Spoiler

Line infantry and support personnel.

The infantry consists of 66 army regulars, 14 lightly armored dragoons and supporting elite troops in powered armour.

support personnel consists of 7 mechaniks, four mediks, 10 gunners/loaders and 4 pilots

the SPG, halftrack and LAVs

on the top left you can see the Type 14 SPG, mainstay heavy hitter for the army, high damage and accuracy. In front of that is the HT-2 halftrack, armed with a small railgun for self defense. Halftracks serve as general purpose vehicles mostly used for bringing supplies to the tanks and artillery pieces in long battles.

next to that, in the bottom right, there are two of the LAVs these two are the longbow pattern, armed with a size 6 direct fire gun and a size 3 autocannon to deal with infantry. Behind them are the shortbow LAVs, armed with dual size 4 autocannons. both types of LAV are not equipped to transport infantry, as their interior is completely taken over by the weapons system, munitons and gunnery crew.
Spoiler
Show
Image
Gladiator MBTs and LUVs

The two light utility vehicles in the front are as basic as can be; four doors, a trunk, hardpoint for a small weapon on the roof. They serve to get reinforcements to the front or as command vehicles in small engagements or patrols. Standing behind the the LUVs are the Type 15 Gladiator MBTs, these tanks are the armored fist of the company, although the design itself is dated and will likely soon be replaced by the new Type 23 MBT, they are still a formidable opponent.

Spoiler
Show
Image
Light Combat Walkers

the company maintains five light walkers to serve as infantry support in urban and densely wooded areas and to act as scouts. they carry mixed armaments and can handle most hostiles.
Spoiler
Show
Image
M-60 Titan

the M-60 titan is a large direct fire support platform intended to take out smaller armored vehicles in a single shot. its railgun fires rounds that penetrate three layers of armor before exploding inside, this enables it to kill smaller tanks in one shot, the power of the weapons does require it to charge up the capacitors first, which means the titan will rarely risk itself on the front lines.
Spoiler
Show
Image
Powered infantry

for the heaviest of urban and close quarters fighting the company maintains three squads of powered infantry, a single soldier in powered armour is as expensive as a full squad of regular infantry, but can withstand just about everything infantry can throw at them and still keep going. the troops on the left are imperial lancers, carrying size two lazer guns on their back to combat light vehicles. The regular powered infantry on the right is a mix between medium range and melee units and is mainly used for taking critical strongpoints or defending them, as they do not have the speed to actively hunt enemies.
Spoiler

Image
elite units overwatch

lastly, there are the elite units and command elements. the left collumm consists of and integrated platoon from the Scout regiment, these troops are trained in stealth and infiltration, sneaking behind enemy lines to report on enemy formations, assinate commanders and blow up airfields.

next to them are the auxillia, they are not actually part of the military but are actually contracters from around the brikverse, they act as military advisors, officers and training instructors. they are required to wear the regulation combat armor but are free to choose their own weapons, resulting in a varried array of swords, guns and rocketlaunchers.

at the right of the picture, four preatorians, veterans of many battles tasked with the protection of high value assets or senior officers. Seen here guarding the company's two WMD's; a tactical nuke and a biological weapon

and finally we conclude with the officers, from left to right

Major Marcus van hoeve, commanding officer of the company, leads from the rear next to his trusty artillery. Has a sword despite the fact that the last time he actually saw an enemy soldier was when he didn't require viagra yet

Luitenant colonel James Verstegen, is actually the commanding officer of the 22nd expeditionary battalion, but is shown here because he happened to be present. he is rarely seen in combat, but when he is, he's usually attempting to beat people to death with other people.

Captain Francis Alpenwegen, is second in command of the company and leads from the front. He is a fierce warrior who has worked his way up from the lowly rank of private.

Hey there.

First of all, you can post images properly like this:

Anyway, nicely done on getting a large armoured force together. You're light on infantry, but that can be easily fixed in time with a few bricklink orders. Your powered infantry though, those look really good.

Impressive start, pretty cool how you have several copies of multiple vehicles. My favorite would have to be those five smaller walkers, those are pretty awesome (lots of Dakka).

here we have a closer look at the basic infantry, this represents my standard squad layout;
-NCO
-weapons specialist/heavy gunner
-riflemen/grenadiers
-an embedded medik
these are the standard soldiers of the empire, they are draftees taken from planets and sent through a short training period that gives them basic combat competence before being entrusted to NCOs. after being given a rifle they are sent to a godforsaken battleground on a godforsaken planet to do battle with many horrible enemies, ranging from mechanical death spiders to unsupervised preteens

A closer look at the NCO and squad gunner
Image
The imperial dragoons are the bridge between infantry and special forces. the dragoons mostly recruit veterans from the infantry companies they are attached too, but volunteers to the legion are sometimes selected for Dragoon training. The dragoons are clad in light armour and carry the more powerfull railguns rather than the standart issue rifles and carbines given to standard infantry.

Image
GLORIOUS POWERED INFANTRY The powered infantry squads are the elites of the Legion. The suits are fully sealed for use in the vacuum of space and the urban battlefield alike.

Image
as well as the strenght enhancers the armor has an integrated combat AI allowing for more actions per turn.

of course these men are not complete without a fitting arsenal, they have acces to rocketlaunchers, heavy 3d6 machineguns and the glorious boltgun, a 2d6 autogun capable of ripping even armored targets to shreds within seconds.

however, sometimes even this firepower is not enough, that is where the imperial lancers come in.
Image
these men wear the upgraded MK30 powered armour, which is sleeker and uses its expanded power supply to power a 3d6 laser cannon, making the troops capable of taking out most armored enemies. The lancers serve as vehicle killers specialising in ambush tactics or as defenders of strongpoints.

vehicles of the 204th
Image
my light combat walkers are relatively small bipedal combat machines intended as reconnaissance/infantry support platforms. at size 3 they are a cheap option to bolster a small infantry force and their diverse loadouts allow them to perform a variety of roles

Image
the Alpha loadout is a simple scout loadout, the size 3 mech carbine enables it to take out most threats its own size or smaller

Image
its powerpack assembly is barebones, featuring only a mounting point for its carbine and an antenna on the other side

Image
The Bravo loadout is intended to allow the walker to punch above its weight, as its size 4 carbine fires armor piercing rounds meant to take down enemy armor, the mech itself is still relatively weak though, so it has to rely on ambush tactics or good cover.

Image
as you can see, it has a beefier powerpack with addtional munitions and a targetting computer.

Image
finally, we have the Charlie loadout, the beefiest of all, it's intended to mow down infantry and hold back enemy advances. its torso is uparmored and shielded so as to prevent it being shot to death by enthousiastic infantry as its unloads its size four autocannon.

Image
this image nicely shows the size differince between the mech carbine, mech rifle and mech cannon. each features a size 2 autogun on the other side to deal with infantry hordes or whilst reloading

Image
for wheeled vehicles we have the "Dinkie" Light Utility Vehicle, a simple derivative of the HMMWV concept it holds one driver, one gunner and three passengers. it's a common sight on Legion militay bases and serves most vehicle roles in the legion
Spoiler
Show
Image
it doesn't always catch fire, but when it does the mechaniks will be soon be on the scene to inform you they are on lunch break and they can come back and fix it "ehm, tomorrow, probably."
Image
The Shortbow Light Armored Vehicle is the first variant in the bowman family of vehicles, featuring dual autocannons, one driver three gunners and a loader it is an infantryman's worst nightmare, being able to spit out four 1d10 explosions per turn it is a mainstay in most Legion formations

Here she is looking pretty.
Image

as this is a mobile assault company, most vehicles can be tied down and fitted into the landing craft
Image

Image
The second variant in the bowman family is the Longbow, built on the same chassis as the shortbow (Bowman MK5 chassis) it is a high speed armor-killer. whilst not having all the armor plating of the MBT's it is outfitted with a large gun capable of taking out even hardened targets in just a few shots. on the turret there has also been mounted an autocannon for use against infantry and a missile launcher for targets that just don't get the message.
Imagenow aint that just lovely?
while it has lacks the airmobile capacity of the shortbow, it has additional optics and a radar dish because there was some space left over.
Image
aforementioned missile.

Image
The gladiatior MBT, heavy armor and a big cannon, this thing is basically a brick of armor with some wheels taped on, simple, cheap and effective; stalin would be proud. It is the oldest model currently in service with the legion and high command is looking into a replacement.
Spoiler
Show
Image
Image

featuring targetting computers, armor piercing shells and an automated point defense gun, it will be killing things left right and center, as any MBT should

Image
also it has a missile launcher because why not?

now i know what you're thinking, "this all very nice and all, but what if violence frightens me? what if i dare not come near those front lines?"
well, first of all then you're a coward and you need a different hobby, second of all i have this for you:

Image
The Type 14 SPG,mainstay heavy hitter of the Legion. it is barely armored but that hardly matters, as it always sits snugly at the back of the battlefield.

Image
this particular SPG is the current love interest of Major Marcus verhoeven. a man who loves his wive, but loves High Explosive ordnance even more

The Officer core

every army needs it's officers, and the legion is no different. the officers make sure that the army runs smoothly and the troops know what to do. they are protected by the preatorians, leading charges and directing vast artillery batteries, officers are an impressive sight.

Image

important officers will rarely be seen without preatorians, whilst not officeres themselves they are combat veterans who have undergone additional training and are tasked with the protection of High ranking officers, Important equipment and Important imperial facilities. In combat they are often seen escorting Senior officers or serving as a rear guard to be deployed where the line might falter.

Special forces
Image
Legates, in several variations on the official uniform

The senior officers of the Department of intelligence are the Legates, they can travel the empire with impunity knowing that they report directly to the Emperor. They often attach themselves to a military unit so they have a private army they can use on any planet or warlord that turns his back on the empire, or those suspected of doing so in the near future.

naturally they are quite adept at explaining to captured prisoners that spilling the beans is a good idea, lest anything else gets spilled....

Image
Frumentarii in Combat dress uniform

The department of intelligence maintains a cadre of Frumentarii, these are the armsmen of the Legates. Most Legates only have acces to a handfull of these elite warriors, mainly using them as spies and to manage their resources. The frumentarii are versatile units, adept at hand to hand combat, marksmanship and covert operations.

Image

some DemiFrumentarii

Demifrumentarii lack the high training standarts of their elite contemporaries, they are more akin to clerks and junior officers within the Department, they often facilitate the link between a Legate and the Military unit he has chosen to assign to him or as his armsmen if the legate has not attached a military unit to themselves. From left to right; a demifrumentarii pilot, a demifrumentarii in assigned to a group of dragoons and a demifrumentarii assigned to a group of riflemen.
