Indeed, they are excellent
Those arms could serve my engineering corps so well. Nice heavy weapons you got there, shame about the *ahem* unstable flamethrowers.
Yes, they do
tend to end horribly. (Oh so very horribly.)
However, in a recent training skirmish (live-fire, of course), the flamethrower actually did its job... well, once. They are
lethal - I feel that they're probably just too close-range to be truly effective (their users are open to enemy fire for far too long before they can retaliate - sprinting helps, but leaves them unsupported).
Somewhat related, the heavy miniguns continue to prove invaluable. While several of them were eliminated by longer-ranged snipers and marksmen in the skirmish, a single superheavy managed to earn his vengeance, wiping out an entire squad and attached officers in a single hail of fire.
(EN: Hey, I just realized I never posted the houserules I use with these guys. I should -do- that. Also, some "new recruits" have arrived, though unfortunately our native supplies are insufficient to complete the armored divisions. Hardsuits (at least a pair) are fully operational though! Few more orders, and perhaps this will actually get -updated-.)
