Thanks for the input, ya'll.
Lrdofdragons: I'll get some ballista instructions up in a day or so
Brag: The reason it has taken me so long to assemble the force to these specifications is I'm a bit of a design nut. If the army doesn't look cohesive (when I'm playing it) I get agitated. Haha. But i def recommend spikes in the shields. It does away with the nasty ring. For the record, I am not looking forward to a "space battle" with them; New Jersey/Eastern PA needs some medieval brik-warriors for sure...
Zahru: I find myself in a dilemma similar to Medivo...how do I create a plot device in which ancient civilizations can still be present in an intergalactic society without making them amish? I think majistiks as dimension-jumpers works for me
Generally: I want to add at least one more siege element to the army, some sort of cross between a catapult that has mantlet-like walls. In this way, the catapult would send casks of oil/pitch across the field and archers would stand behind the barriers with flaming arrows...anyone have any good ideas on how to attach archer-cover to a catapult?

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the catapult since it's supposed to have a longer range than the archers? If I were you I'd make a catapult and portable shields separately.Rev. Sylvanus wrote:anyone have any good ideas on how to attach archer-cover to a catapult?
If you're going to carry through with this, I'd just make a cart with the catapult on top and a place for the archers to stand in below, with openings to fire through. Perhaps add a smaller cart and a system to pull projectiles up to the top.
This would likely work better with a cannon though, which could then be placed in the bottom level (whereas with a catapult this would be problematic for obvious reasons).

Yeah, that's the easiest way of getting away with it.
Although I have to say, Medivo is part of the galaxy (the best example that some Immortal agent's are lingering there even now); my way of solution was giving it a sort of radiation, that simply renders high-tech stuff useless, so one could avoid a planetary nuking.
Of course, we don't know whether this is a natural phenomenon or the majistiks have their hands in it
Btw thanks for sharing that article stubby! It really fueled my imagination, and reminded me to weave my tale further... (tl;dr-new forum battle soon!)

My character's planet is connected by a Nega-Portal, a nefarious creation that allows entrance to the host planet by Nega-Blokians and other beasts. Use something like that. ^_^Rev. Create the Helipolis; City-Destroyer. It'd work as both a siege engine and a fortress.

The original idea was to have a catapult that just launched barrels of pitch and oil on to the battlefield which archers with braziers could just light up. I'm resisting (for the moment) trying to implement gunpowder into this faction for aesthetic reasons; maybe I'll just break down, give the longbowmen muskets with axe-heads on them, and then try to craft a dragon-head / cannon-battering-ramish sort of contraption. Or just make a normal catapult...idk yetBragallot wrote: Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the catapult since it's supposed to have a longer range than the archers? Great link, stubby; fantastic!

My game has Void-Zones, places where there is no ABS, through which occasionally briks or minifigs fall and are temporally distorted(Perhaps they fall into our world and battle within the lego boxes and emerge with spoils of war) and driven insane. It allows my modern army to co-exist with my medieval army and planned futuristic army.
