Barracuda light assault carrier

Post by fredde » Sun Feb 27, 2011 11:59 am

Image
This is the barrauda light assault carrier.
Image
Designed for deploying groups of mechs as well as fending of other capitalships.
Image
The primary armament of the barracuda is 5 railguns 4 in double turrets and one in a rear single turret.
Image
The railguns accelerate a slug to fractions of lightspeed thus creating enourmous damage to targets, there are several accounts of ships being completely disabled due t the shockwave the slug creates as it travels thru the air the crew simply gets liquified.
Image
severalengines aid the ship in manouvering but the primary movement comes from inertial drives.
Image
The topside platform holds a recon uav.
Image
often during missions these uavs play key role in scouting the combat arena.
Image
The fron with a heavily reinforced bridge window.
Image
Venting area and sensors.
Image
by opening one of the sidepanels a cargo room is revealed.
Image
along with the ships marine complement.
Image
The other pod holds a recovery vehicle
Image
woooo recovery vehicle!
Image
The bridge were make it so is an integral part of any conversation.
Image
A clear view of well nothing. aswell as the different crewmembers.

Image
Captain blue gives a rallying speech.
Image
This will propably house some kind of dropship in the future but for now its an engineroom.
Image
Now for the good stuff!
Image
Mechs!
Image
These guys are goshawk mark IIs they are smaller more versatile, and thanks to advanced composite armor and shields just as hard to kill!
Image
The cavernous hangar for all your storing needs!
Image
The other side also holds a pair of goshawk mark IIs these guys are equipped with advanced AI that helps immensly in combat, they are reportedly rather talkative spending hours discussing among themselves
which way is better to vapourize their enemies or what movie should be played on the holonetwork in the ship.
Image
A beam lance and a laserrifle, because your worth it
Image
Two mechsized macineguns and a horrible picture.
Image
just a size comparison.
Image
yet another look at the ship which is 109 studs long and has a very well achieved look with the panels i must say.
Image
Primary sensor tower
Image
These are all the weapons a goshawk mark II can use.
Image
just mix and match!
Image
A z-46 plasma cannon which solved the z-45s problem of exploding while overheated,.....this one just melts!
Image
This config a heavy antitank bazooka and antimaterial rifle makes tanks wet their pants,if they had pants....and could wet themself.
Image
And a Sniper cannon with a range of well line of sight basically.
Thats all folks my second SHIP feedback is appreciated!

YES! SHIP is freakishly awesome, I love the sloping shape, and the mechs look like they're ready to come straight through an enemy's hull. Awesome stuff!

fredde, I feel at a loss to find the words to express just how much I like this ship. The detail, even down to the recovery vehicle, the weapon selection for the bots, the ship itelf, it is all just wonderful. Well done! :D

Nice Fredde! I'm glad you scrapped your old ships to make this instead, it looks very nice with the sloping sides and front etc, and the interior looks nice. I really like the bridge, you can see it's the heart and brain of your ship.

Also, nice use of the modified plates on the exterior. Gives the ship a nice worked over look. Ah, great ship. Planning on having a small companion ship made, like before?

Awesome ship, but I am more focussed on the Goshawk Mark IIs. I just love those things. Keep up the amazing work!
