if you look through some of my older posts, you'll see the Avalonians have a few vehicles. I'm more interested in infantry so I really haven't devoted time to making tanks, walkers or anything like that.

I think you did a great job on the Avalonians.

Thanks.  Glad to know that you like them.  I'm trying to come up with clever ideas for non-minifig units to make battles a little more interesting.  If everyone just has a car with a gun on it, then it feels a little boring to me.

It might a bit gimmicky, but how about a weapon that can be deployed as an unit?

I don't remember what your mining co's vehicles do, but you should really have a burrowing unit. Either have it come out of the ground to deploy your troops, or allow it to move underground. That would be really cool.

The ZMC Bullet Bill Transport Vehicle is just a vehicle with a turret on top of it.  It looks like a Bullet Bill.

The idea of a burrowing troop deployment vehicle actually sounds awesome.  I might have to look into it. :D

For example, a raygun that can unfold itself, transforming into a small turret. Useful when cornered/outnumbered, it could also aid in an offensive push.

I guess, but why wouldn't you just have a moving turret to begin with?

Because throwing down a laser rifle to have it transform into a walking gun is awesome.
Having a large moving turret is fine, and in my mind more powerful than a small gun drone. However, the small turrets sort of allow your troops (or at least the troops that carry the guns) to double their attacking potential, with both the turret and the troops attacking (this only works if the troops carry a secondary weapon).
Also, a big moving turret usually is required to be controlled by a minifig, while the small ones could be independent, and chase down targets by themselves.

Kinda like Perfect Dark's Laptop Gun - you use it as a rifle or whatever for a while, but then when there's a guy around the corner you can't reach or you need to fall back and defend the position, you just throw the gun somewhere and *boom* it sticks to the wall and deploys itself as an automatic turret!

Jeez, I forgot all about the laptop gun. Yeah, do that, just because it's pretty damn cool. But only give it to the most tech-savvy guys you have, or else it will get ridiculous.

First up today, we have the awesome and very Brikwarsy new Avalonian artillery vehicle!

I almost made this vehicle out of pure sarcasm and some frustration after failing in an attempt to create a decent Assyrian vehicle, but then I realized how awesome and Brikwarsy this looked and I was happy with it.

The only bad thing is that I haven't been very interested in giving new vehicles and units names recently, so this lacks one for now.  Semaj, feel free to name it if you want to.

And here are the 2 Chubs I created based on a couple ideas I stole from Soren.  I was inspired by Mobile Frame Zero to create these, and I really like how they came out.

They can either go into the Order of the Holy Dragon since they have the right color scheme, or I might just save them for MFZ.  I'm not sure yet.


So, that's all I have for now.  When my new baseplates arrive, I'm probably going to work on creating the battlefield for my next forum battle.  Until then, cheers! :guinness:
