17th Coalition Marine Expeditionary Force

Postby halo 3000 » Sat Jul 28, 2012 2:08 pm

"Exsisto validus quod of a bonus virtus"

One of the Strongest Marine companys on the planet Mjolnir, the 17th Marine Expeditionary Force is a product of many years of fighting under the banner of the Mjolnir Coalition.

The Mjolnir Coalition is a long standing Coalition formed after three factions put aside their differences to fight off a foreign threat. Realizing the power of their alliance, they stuck together for centuries after fighting off the foreign enemy. After colonizing hundreds of world they uncovered an alien warp drive, much stronger than any of their scientists could produce. once they reverse engineered the technology and outfitted their star fleets with them, they traveled in search of other civilizations. what they found were countless factions in the middle of a great war. They are unsure where to side...

The 17th Marine Expeditionary Force fights under the motto: "Exsisto validus quod of a bonus virtus" which means "Be strong and of a good courage." They have fought off numerous threats in their own systems.

Here is a large squad of marines. You can see the sergeant in the front. (He's the one with the scout trooper helmet.) Usually Squads consist of 6-8 men and a sergeant. I have only two sergeants right now but I will build more when my latest ebay order arrives.
Image

Here is another view. I have more marines but I don't have guns for all of them. I need to buy more from brickarms.

Image

Who doesn't love Heavy infantry? These guys are either mixed in with normal marine squads or dropped into battle via drop pod.

Image

Few men have the job of toting around heavy weapons. they don't complain.

Image

Here is a better look on my Flamethrower Marine. I especially like him. I built him after watching the thing one night.

Image

From the back. Look at that booty.

Image

You're damn right he loves his job!

Image

Here are my sniper teams. Each team consists of one marksman, and one spotter. These men do various jobs such as scouting, taking out high value targets, and calling in artillery bombardments

Image

No Sci Fi army is complete without a hardsuit soldier! This guy is armed for patrol or guard duty. Strictly anti infantry.

Image

From the back. This is not my design, all credit goes to Mladen. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=23758

Image

Another hardsuit. this one is cut out for a little more heavy duty work.

Image

A good view of his grenade launcher. I will be building more of these guys. at one point in time, I had 5 of these guys.

Image

Here is the drop pod. I'm not to happy with its looks, but it will do.

Image

With the doors open.

Image

This is a Prowler, Light Tank. This is not my design either. All credit goes to Jon Newsome. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/135412

Image

This Tank is controlled directly from the strike cruiser. This minimalizes casualties and allows the tank to be smaller and faster, while maintaining firepower and armor.

Image

Cool looking tank huh? Take look at more of Jon's stuff. he is an outstanding builder.

Image

As you can see I have three of them. They are not part heavy and easy to build.

Image

This is my APC, the Armadillo.

Image

Armed to the teeth! Its more of a battle fortress than an APC.

Image

Good view on the side guns. Warhammer 40k Inspired.

Image

You can see how the top comes off.

Image

The inside. It can transport a small squad of marines. The turret and side guns are controlled much like the Prowler.

Image

And the door.

Image

This is the Stinger, Light gunship. its main role is to provide support fire and take out armor.

Image

Top view.

Image

Back. I really like have the back looks for some reason.

Image

Just for fun, a convoy to show off my forces.

My army is relatively small right now. I'm working on building a heavy walker, and a microspace fleet. Thanks for looking!

I'd like to be the first to say that these look really good, I like the fact that the infantry actually looks like a force to be messed with, not just the left over minifigs from your collection, that's a rare thing and probably took quite a while to compile all the parts so kudos to you for that. The vehicles are looking pretty impressive too, what with their twin cannons and side-sponsons. I also can't wait for that mech you've been working on to be added to the bunch.

All in all, it's not often we see an army quite this good, it really has lots going for it!
I hope to see more works of awesome from you in future.

I love the drop pod, and this is actually a pretty decent sized force all things considered.

Great job!

So, how would this "coalition" think about joining the Third Alliance?

Don't put yourself down, 'cos it's not. It has amazingly well tied-in infantry in an unusual colour scheme and your creations are top notch so even if another force is bigger yours gets bonus points for awesomeness. Even if you took the designs from somewhere else, who cares? ^^

Thanks! I've had this army for quite some time now. Over the years I kept trying to buy more star wars sets to get the clone troopers and stormtroopers.

the apc is probably my favoritethat I've seen on the forums.

Really? Thanks!

i want to see everything in bloody action of course!

Haha, you and me both. No one plays brikwars here in North Carolina...

I love the drop pod

My original inspiration was this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hjmediastu ... 466584255/

Those tanks are awesome, I might have to build some!

Thanks! If you really wanted I make some instructions.

So, how would this "coalition" think about joining the Third Alliance?

You will have to give me some time to think about that one. Is the Third Alliance Immortal or Anti Immortal?

It has amazingly well tied-in infantry

Thanks! I take great pride in my infantry!

The Third Alliance is anti-immortal. However, we are currently occupied destroying the Allied Nations, another alliance that believed it could bring peace to the Brikverse.

That may be one of the most lovely APC's I've ever seen; I echo Ben-Jammin in liking it enough to want to lift it :D

I really like your stuff here. It's awesome!

One thing to think about might be the possible addition of some close combat units just because having some around is always useful.

Those are some good vehicles, and that APC is epic.

Yea, that has been on my to do list for a while now. I really want some super cool spec ops guys. I just ordered 20 stormtrooper torsos today so expect more marines!
