The two and a bit weeks server review thread.

Postby dilanski » Tue Mar 11, 2014 5:56 pm

So, down to some serious business. Originally this thread was going to coincide with one month of the server running, but I feel now is as good a time as any. And just to preface this, I'm not asking if the server should continue running, as there is no uncertainty in the server continuing to run, at least until I get to University. This thread is to see if the server is going in the right direction, and that decisions made so far have worked out. I am after feedback on a quick questionnaire, please rate each statement as Strongly Disagree [SD] Disagree [D] No Comment [NC] Agree [A] Strongly Agree [SA]. On top of that, I would like your own personal opinions, complaints and questions and insults. You can just do the questionnaire, or just leave an opinion.

7) The management of the server has been good
8) The server has a good atmosphere
9) There should be more admins
10) Vanilla survival has benefited the server
11) Difficulty should always remain on
12) Creative should be handed out for working on community projects
13) Materials should be spawned in for community projects
14) Owners/Admins should be able to use there power as they see fit
15) The server should have more mods/plugins
16) Lockette has worked well as a plugin

OK, so it's a short questionnaire, just pop the number and the corresponding bracket down, and any thoughts and comments you have.

I've had a blast on the server so far. It's a small enough community that I can get to know people, there are enough players that something interesting is usually going on, and there's a strong sense of community. The only issue I have is that it's a massive pain trying to find certain materials (Jungle trees/cocoa and dark oak are the main ones I've been having issues with, though I'm sure other people have similar issues), so having an admin spawn a public tree farm or at least stock a chest with the various saplings would be nice.

Actually there is some Dark Oak to the North East, found it while wandering around looking for Mike's Dwarf Fort.

Ok thanks. I don't suppose you have a more precise location on that?

No, but I did snag a few saplings from Mike's Dwarf Fort and planted them next to Scythe's Spruce Forest.

Remus: Harry... I'm a werewolf.
Harry: Are you fucking serious?
Remus: Well yes, but I don't see how that applies here.

I've got an underground mini tree farm with everything except the jungle tree, feel free to grab some saplings.

Oh. Comments:
In my opinion, the amount of admins a server has is completely relative to the server population. seeing as we have about 30 players whitelisted, we should have about 1 admin and 2 mods, (Note: Mods are not OPped, but report to the admins/owners quickly, so that problems can be solved faster)
On the question of creative for public builds, IMO we should build a safe spawn in creative, and leave it at that. From there, it will be more fun for the playerbase to work hard to get items and build themselves.
It would be nice If I could log into the server btw, xD

Is that still not working? I'll drop another note with support, as they managed to get BFenix on like Bonn-o-Tron.

I may have to make a thread asking for people to just scream if this error is occurring, do you know of anyone else, other than SIR_WHO and BFenix affected?
