I went to the King Diamond Show last night. It was brilliant!

That's awesome. He was at Graspop last year and people said the King sings better than ever :) (I was there but I had no other concerts to compare it to. The performance was spot on though so I'm prone to believe it.)

I'm gonna see Channel Zero, Devin Townsend Project, Dimmu Borgir, Down, Motörhead and Within Temptation in a bit. Guess which one I'm looking forward to most ;)

I'd be the most psyched for Devin Townsend.

Just got back. Devin Townsend was indeed very good - he was funny (his stage banter is absolutely the best), personable and most importantly of course, the music was great. I had heard good things about him but he still managed to surprise me with his original sound. I missed most of Channel Zero, unfortunately, but Devin Townsend Project's performance made up for it.

I can't help but not like Down though, I left after two songs. I think their music is uninspired and I don't like Phil Anselmo either, not as a singer, not as a performer and not as a person...

No problem though, 'cos Dimmu Borgir was pretty decent as well, and this is coming from someone who doesn't listen to Black Metal. The vocals (what keeps me from listening to Black Metal most of the time) were tolerable and that helps because I do like Black Metal instrumentally.

It was my third time seeing Motörhead and this was easily the best. Very good performance by Lemmy and the guys. That was the show I looked forward to most, I'm a huge Within Temptation fan but I didn't like much of what I'd heard from the last album so I feared they would suck, but they were absolutely fantastic as well - even the new songs sounded better live. All in all a good day for metal, a great day for metalkind  :666:

Went to a gig with Savage Messiah, Huntress and Amon Amarth today. About time I saw the crazy scandinavians. Totally killed it, what a show!

This Sunday I'm going to Alcatraz festival, which has Annihilator, Sabaton, Powerwolf, Accept and Venom. Also Behemoth and Death. Crazy how they got so many kickass bands together.

Just returned from this year's Vagos festival. It was a blast.

Loved to see Venom, Destruction and Overkill. Super fast, mean and loud, really awesome.

Alestorm replaced Halestorm which made the third day far more fun and enjoyable IMO.

Ne Obliviscaris were absolutely fantastic, which made me really happy since I wasn't expecting they could put out the performance from the album unto a live festival. Really good show.

WAKO and Moonshde opened up the first and second day. It's great to see some really good "home-made" steel!

Heaven Shall Burn threw a great gig also. They really know how to brew some violence down the pit.

And more on the dark side, Triptykon had a good show and Bloodbath were also excellent. Finally got to see one of the main names in Death Metal!

Now November will also be filled with shows. I'm looking forward to Carcass with Obituary and Nile. :666:
