The thing I never got is, why is Voldermort considered so unbeatable? I mean, one well placed sniper and all your troubles are over.

Because:

6: they don't believe in guns.

7: Voldemort split his sould into 7 parts, so even if you kill his body, it can be resurrected by use of a horcrux. This happened in Goblet of Fire.

Mainly because any projectile weapon could be easily healed. Hell, any non-spell damage in the HP universe is curable.

I'm a bit of a Harry Potter geek. Sue me.

No head = no spell casting. You don't have to be an expert to know that.

The whole hoaxes thing reminds me of a series, It goes kinda like this:

A group of people have to travel to destroy mystical thing.
An evil wizard wants too stop them and also get the mystical thing.
The group of people have too destroy said mystical thing in a highly specific way.
Highlight below if you have no idea what i'm on about:
A fellowship have to journey to destroy a ring.
An evil wants to stop them and claim the ring.
The fellow ship have too chuck the ring into a pecific volcano.

Now I'm not saying the entire plots stolen, just that it seems she had some strong "inspiration".
