The White and Red-striped GT500... If I do more appearance stuff to mine it would have to be that car's hood with the heat extractors.

Umm, the insurance isn't that bad because it's almost 5 years old now, it's black (they charge more if it's red), and I have no tickets on my record.

It was my high-school graduation present. Remember, it's a Ford, they aren't luxury cars or something.

Oh and the fastest I did was 115 on I-75 South in Michigan south of Detroit.

Take a guess. ;)

No you're right it's dumb to go that fast, I just wanted to know what the car would do. Normally I go like 60/70 depending on the road and conditions. But uhh, it has a speed limiter. See, my brother has the exact same car except 1 year older... So, he gets up to 107 then the speed limiter cuts in and stops it from going faster. We later learned this is because the drive shaft in a 05-09 V6 Mustang will shatter if you go much over 115 MPH, so they put a limiter in there at 107 so that you don't destroy your car.

But for mine, I got an aluminum drive shaft installed (stronger than stock, reduces torque needed for engine to turn wheels --> faster and smoother acceleration) which won't blow up if you go past 115. But the engine tune I got for it is from Ford so knowing that Ford probably let the tune only raise the limit to 115. I could get it removed if I wanted but that'd mean paying out the ear for a real tune and I mean, I never go that fast so like for real. No reason to do it.

@Warhead Cop:
I'm actually a remarkably safe driver. I've never been in an accident and haven't had a ticket for over four years.

I think (correct me if I'm wrong) limiters kick in when you redline at your last gear. I got my 4 Runner past 120 (speedomiter only goes upto 120) before the limiter kicked in, scared the crap out of me. So you could go a bit faster.

Btw, sweet ride, you need to get spinners for her...

Good girl, I've had occasions to exceed the ton (never in anything as fancy as that thing though, once in a 922 Porche as a passenger when I was younger) more than once and not at any time during a chase has my sphincter been anything but puckered, even on the open motorway. Although, saying that there is a buzz to it too and I can see the attraction but damn foolishness when you see the mistakes all crisp and fried wrapped round some lamp posts at two in the morning.

When I was in High School I bought a 1972 Chevy Chevelle Super Sport.
(402-cubic-inch engine just as a side note. :wink: )

Loved going on Freeway runs late at knight. Most were at 100 plus. Los Angeles to San Diego and back.

Then one day I realized I could die. Took all the fun out of it. :(

I managed to quadruple the speed limit in a 45 zone once, back in my (even-) stupider days. But you'll have to wait and ask me about it in chat sometime.
