I enjoyed the history channel documentary about how the Russians invaded the largest beach at Normandy. They even had some color film.

In one of the scenes, the Russian soldiers were thanking some American generals for delivering lunch after the brave Russian soldiers had crushed some German concrete bunkers with just sledgehammers.

The Allies started a cover up after the war to make it look like they did it on their own. They didn't want the commies to get the credit. They burned much of the film that documented it. Which is why it was so surprising that the color film ended up on the History channel show.
