IT IS NOT OGRE YET
I repeat:
NOT
OGRE
YET
I've been sick twice to the point of going to the hospital, but I'll be damned if it's stopped me from playing and shooting this monstrosity. Let's go...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL4RBZV ... C912C49005
Opening up Turn 4, a handful of remaining BNP partisans (foreground) gang up on a lone Tithe Ranger.
Laser bolts whizz around him but his armor suit narrowly shields him from death.
Another nearby partisan ambushes the passing police car. He aims for the driver...
Bad day to be a cop!
It's chaos on the Federalist left flank as the BNP cavalry make contact. Using longer-ranged specialist rifles, the cavalrymen shoot at the infantry before they're in range to return fire.
The Generalissimo attempts a heroic feat to urge his and his cavalrymen's steeds to a double move this turn.
In the din of the battle, however, they seem to misinterpret his orders.
"No, you overgrown SWINE; the other way!" yells the Generallisimo as the animals turn around and head the other way.
Disappointed in the blurring on this one, but oh well.
The militia men left in the fort blast the first comboint (left) to rush the central hallway.
As more comboints rush the militia's position, the blue merc brother attempts to rocket into the sky with jetpack, intending to do an awesome strafing run with his machine pistols.
It malfunctions, however, launching him in a random direction.
Embarrassingly, the blue brother lands with a thud north of the fort near the Arctic States Militia's position.
Comboint plasma fire sends another brave Jetterhead to his death.
A robot hover panzer moves up and targets the nearest fire support vehicle with its main gun.
The shot lands behind the little FSV and blows a wheel off, but otherwise leaves it in the fight.
The command tank with Colonel Yagarin on its turret (bottom right) turns to give a line fire to its unwanted passenger for the other tank.
The tank fires on the marine colonel with its side lasers but fail to kill him.
The AI roller tank advances and targets the same FSV from earlier with its twin heavy cannons.
The resulting explosions knock out the FSV and also blow up all but one of the Durdedotte contingent in the forest.
Devastation shot after the roller tank fired.
Similar to what another tank did with Yagarin, this tank turns around to let the robot infantry target the mercenaries assaulting it.
The robots move in and shoot down the mercenaries on the tank.
The comboints keep pushing the east wall.
Kicking off the start of the Federalist turn the battlecruiser's still-living gunner target's the partisan that shot his driver.
He opens up with the twin light cannons on the sides of the main gun.
The battlecruiser's backup guns shred the sneaky partisan.
A motley crew from both sides engage one another near the docks. Leftover partisans and technical crewmen fight police and Tithe Rangers in a straight gun battle.
The federal marshal's anti-tank rifle jammed earlier and his shotgun is out of range. Desperate to contribute to the gunbattle NOW, he prepares to chuck the massive gun at the nearest enemy's noggin.
Direct hit! The rifle makes a satisfying 'crunch' noise as it pulverizes the partisan's skull.
Through skill and training the Federalists mop up the remaining enemies here.
With the Mighty Mite tank at their side the militia north of Fort Ridgeway move forward to push back the BNP attackers.
On the roof overlooking the militia advance one of the mercenary paratroopers spots for the self-propelled gun supporting them.
"Callsign Thor, Callsign Thor," begins the spotter over the radio, "uh, target the brown fuzzy one at, uh, grid Violet eleven."
"Roger that, eyes," replies the gunner as he aims the big cannon skyward.
"Firing in three...two...one..."
The shell veers far beyond the target and behind the BNP New Men, but its explodes with far greater force than normal. So great, it reaches out and kills most of the rear echelon of the Generalissimo's attack.
Immediately after the artillery, the Mighty Mite takes aim once again with its plasma cannon at the cavalry.
Oh no! The cannon jammed!
The blue brother gets back on his feet and rushes back into the fort, now without his jet pack.
The militia men that are still left inside the fort spend their turn shooting down the comboints nearest to them.
On the walls a reloaded cannon aims down at the oncoming monsters.
The resulting explosion is devastating.
Along the rest of the wall, the fighting continues much as it has this past age...
I mean, uh, much as it for the rest of the battle...
One of the Fallschirmjagers sets up a machine gun atop the walls. In an instant he looses a spray of lead at the rushing comboints.
If not for the racket of "chn-chn-chn-chn-chn..." from the gun he would look like he were spraying poison on insects.
The things die as if struck by a giant mower's scythe.
Chaos in the fort. Troops scramble to guard the east wall while others guard the green door leading to the area that the Fallschirmjagers just hosed with bullets.
The Options Diplomatic bodyguards continue to haul the Proselyte, Lady Saxxon, to safety out of the base.
Militia survivors shoot down the lead comboint but more and more of the creatures keep coming.
Doom is imminent!
A Berismirov trooper who had been lugging around a now-wrecked heavy machine gun turns his backup weapon on the comboints, but to no avail.
Whoa, what's this? A massive explosion rips through the center of the comboints and blows nearly all of them to smitheroons!
It was the old rocket-launcher platform! Nice shot!
Now stop grinning and reload the tubes.
The pilot and gunner of the FSV clamber out of their wrecked vehicle.
Overwatch shot of the Federalists southwest of the fort.
The Peptobismol flies in for another attack run, but the robot fighter intercepts its. Aiming for the pilot with all 4 lasers, the robot scores a hit but the pilot's battle armor protects him.
The police fighter turns up again to fire back at the robot fighter. It hits the wing but not hard enough to down the fighter.
Unfortunately for the police fighter, it is mobbed by a follow-up flight of small drone craft.
One finally kills the police pilot, ending the fight for this fighter.
The peptobismol continues on its attack run on some robot infantry. Out of bombs, the pilot switches to the wing-mounted rockets.
The rockets find their mark and blast several robots.
Police gunships swoop in to target an exposed roller-robot before it can deploy.
Their .50-cals shred the robot into steel shreds.
Across town, a civilian medic had spent the last three turns running to the cop accidentally killed by an artillery blast.
After finally reaching him, the revival didn't go so well...
End of turn 4. I'm too dang exhausted to explain what all is happening. Things are variously being exploded, shot, or torn to pieces by monsters. Enjoy.
