Must go on...
At the start of the BNP's turn 5, a detachment of New Men appear on the northern edge of the map. Led by the grim looking one in black, they seem to have been given some special assignment. What could it be?
Oh, they're going to snipe the Mighty Mite...
Tragically, the squad of New Men manage to indeed shoot both the gunner and driver of the FSU tank.
It was their only armor on this side of the battlefield, and their best armor around period. What will they do now?
Another damned bombing run happens...
Ouch...
The BNP cavalry turn around and head for the Federalists again. They shoot down at the disrupted militiamen.
As they move up the Generalissimo sics his raptor on one of the stunned riflemen.
Barbarism fitting of one with a superiority complex...
Inside Ridgeway, a comboint swings the green door open. Fresh meat lay before it.
Luckily for the Federalists, they were ready; the beast is mowed down by reaction shots.
More comboints move through the fort.
The Fallschirmjagers on the west wall fire down on the monsters.
The green brother joins in with his automatic sniper rifle.
After forgetting to attempt a heroic last turn, Colonel Yagarin does one now as a reaction.
Using his rifle chain saw, he tries to break into the driver's compartment, throw out the pilot and commandeer the vehicle. Yet he hatch proves stronger than he had expected.
Once again another hover panzer tries to shoot Yagarin off of its brother tank. Yagarin eats both laser bolts but the sheer bulk of his armor rescues him.
Preparing to sweep aside the last few mercenaries on their left, the robots continue their advance on Brickingrad.
As the BNP's fifth turn draws to a close, they seem to be gaining the upper hand everywhere. The recently arrived New Men officer celebrates what he sees as impending victory.
"Ha ha! The revolution's success is at hand! The dawn of our race's mastery of known space will be just a few more triumphs away!"
As the New Men officer monologues his delusions of grandeur, a large black shape swoops over and past his squad.
"The hell was - OH CRAP!" screams the same officer as he turns around, looking for whatever just flew by.
Instead of any plane, all he sees is a Federalist walker squadron baring down on his position.
Quite a large force of the walkers just showed up to attempt to rescue Brickingrad.
"Uh..." is the carefully chosen last word of the New Men commander that sniped the Mighty Mite.
As it lumbers towards the BNP army, a voice erupts out of a microphone under the chin of the tallest walker.
"Greetings ya factory-made cockroaches, this is President Augustus Washington Caesar broadcasting from my newly fitted All-Terrain Ass-Tearer. Did your 'good massuh' not inform you that part of his grand plan involved you all getting shoa'd?"
"Now into the trashcan of history with you," declares the President as he ends his speech.
As it concludes, one of the larger walkers targets the nearest mass of BNP infantry with its main cannon.
The first large cannon shot obliterates the whole right flank of the BNP New Men in a massive, 10 inch radius explosion.
The second cannon shot, from one of the two-legged walkers, destroys the BNP strike team.
Lastly, the tall walker aims its main gun at the remaining mass of New Men in the distance.
Picture I initially forgot of the All-Terrain Ass-Tearer's cannon shot. All the remaining New Men regulars die or get tossed by a huge 'splosion.
After the walker blasts hit, a squad of 7 black-clad figures teleports into the aftermath.
It's Force Shade, an elite melee strike team drawn from the President's personal honor guard. They phase onto the battle field with laser blades and submachine guns.
Nearby, another Federalist commando unit warps into walker-devastated area.
This time it's Force Specter, a more conventional, rifle-focused squad tasked with supporting Force Shade.
Finally, after the arrival of the walkers and commandos, the President's personal shuttle, Tragedy One, lands amidst the battle.
The hatch slams open onto the sand. Is the president dropping in his personal guards?
Nope; the President of the whole Star Union is intervening personally! Atop his bull, he is fully armored and bears gold plated arms.
He says no words, just an angry roar as he launches from the shuttle hatch towards the enemy.
Caesar's charge is closely followed by his entourage of elite Red Guards. They're Tithes handpicked to serve him directly and given better, more expensive and customized equipment.
Their ceremonial form distinguishes them from everything else currently on the field.
The President immediately duels with the Generalissimo. They swing and block indecisively with each other.
Force Shade moves in and dice the BNP troops disrupted by the walker assault.
Even the ones still on horseback are attacked.
The cavalry charge is utterly halted.
While Force Shade rip apart the armored cavalrymen, Force Specter finish off the unarmored enemy survivors.
This Specter, wielding a drum-mag shotgun, utterly destroys his target.
Force Specter tries to kill all remaining enemies before they can react after their stunned state.
After another failed heroic feat, Colonel Yagarin finds himself alone in the middle of the battlefield nearby a comboint feasting on a dead body...
Hard to describe what happened here. Basically an explosive shot went haywire and accidentally killed...almost everyone on the south wall...
WOOPS
Inspired by the presence of their President, the militia troops left reorganize and charge the enemy.
Inside the fort, the mercenary mech rips up a section of wall.
The mech threw the wall section at one of the panzers, crushing its turret.
After throwing the wall, the mech lifts up a comboint in each hand.
It squeezes the things in its metal claws until they explode into showers of blood.
South of the fort, the last comboint from the explosion last turn struggles with the Berismirov captain while a trooper prepares to intervene.
With a burst of burp-gun slugs the Berismirov trooper guns down his commander's assailant.
Tragedy 1 takes off after its passengers disembark. It'll probably be used for airstrikes later on.
As Tragedy One flies off the robot fighter swoops in to intercept!
Before it can shoot at the shuttle, however, the Federalist stealth fighter comes to the rescue. It targets the same left wing that the police fighter had attacked earlier.
With its multiple automatic-fire laser cannons the stealth fighter is finally able to destroy the robot fighter.
Overwatch shot near the walkers.
With the addition of the walkers, the Federalists have swung the battle in their favor again.
Same as last go around: explosions, death, army dudes, big machines, weird monsters.
