The Peach Massacre of G.R. 2010 -- ROUND TWO: FIGHT

Post by Natalya » Mon Nov 08, 2010 4:21 pm

News of the fist battle in the Peach Massacre of G.R. 2010 reached the galaxy fast, but news of the second half of the battle has only come now. The following events took place near a warp tunnel leading between the CAID Sector and ASE space on the same planet as the original battle.

The Vol: Tuefish
Assyrian Star Empire: Natalya
45th Union: RoC77

A view of the field from the Assyrian perspective.

And from the 45th Union's perspective.

The Vol took up position in an outpost near the McDonalds, directly opposite the Assyrians. They are the smallest force represented here, but they are tough opponents. Some of their air units were held in reserve. The two rail guns were set up behind the walls of their fort, with two lighter guns out front. Their dropship lay behind the wall as well prepared to fly out.

The 45th Union came in from the side opposite the McDonalds. In all, the setup favoured a massive Assyrian//Vol conflict, but the 45th Union wasn't going to be left out. They deployed their forces with the jeeps near the Vol because of their effectiveness in part 1. Their heavy armour was for the most part reserved for use against the ASE, while the infantry was divided between the two.

The ASE held most of its Commandos in reserve, positioning its heaviest units by the 45th Union. The ASE's Heavy Laser Rifles are strong enough to melt through the tough Vol armour in most cases, so the decision was made to put them to the test against the Vol.

the 45th definitely have the advantage in terms of armoured vehicles, but the VOL seem too have (if im not mistaken) control of the air, and the assyrian could out manoeuvre the tanks on land.

This looks excellent.
There is just one thing I wonder about...
Is that Tuefish in the top-center of the photo and Roc77 wearing grey to his left?:

I'm rooting for death in this battle.

Finally, the 45th Union will have their revenge... Go Peaches! (For this time, at least)

See, I knew patience would avail :)

Natalya must not have been showing every card in her deck on these pics... Otherwise Peaches have both an advantage in forces as terrain and will likely have won imo.

Btw: wow, just wow. This just inspired me to finally put more effort in the (many) creations I've planned. Sadly I'm only home at weekends and logically can't stay in my room for the whole weekend either ;)

Left my flash drive at home by accident... Maybe I can put turn 1 up tonight, though I planned to do it today. Sorry about that. If it's not up tonight wait for it tomorrow.

But umm, I brought I think more than 88 minfigs (including drivers and stuff) so despite that RoC77 has the most armour units, I had more actual minifigs than either him or Tuefish.

Oh, my infantry had the weakest armor & guns, so it balanced out. I just needed the larger area to be able to get my vehicles around....

The Vol Turn 1

Image

The Vol start to move out towards the 45th Union. Two War Pigs go around the back of the McDonald's towards the ASE.

Image

And the Vol score the first kills of the game.

Assyrian Star Empire

Image

The general infantry units move up, taking out one of the small turrets and two Vol Soldiers. The Vesta Death Bikes deliver a point of damage to a War Pig.

Image

On the other side, the Dreadnought opens up on the tank, giving it some damage. The light foot also scored a missile hit right into the infantry, killing a few. One of the soldier's rifles exploded, taking off his arm, but his comrades took out some more of the 45ths ground forces. (After round 1 we decided that misfiring weapons wouldn't hurt the person who used them.)

45th Union

Image

Guns blazing, the jeeps charge at the Vol.

Image

They kill three Vol, and the others return fire on the Assyrians, taking a couple of them down as well.

- End Turn 1 -

Kill Table

Vol Raiders: 2
Assyrian Star Empire: 14
45th Union: 5

Death Table
Vol Raiders: 6
Assyrian Star Empire: 4
45th Union: 11
