My entry for Halloween Hellhunt :)
First battle on my new game table. The battlefield was 34''x52''. There was enough room for more ships (only 2 were used) but as I was soloing this battle, I though that 60+ units would be enough to keep me busy. The whole battle was done over a couple of days.

First, a bit of context: The Fleurdelys system is a small planetary system located in the far end of the brikverse. Several factions inhabit the system and the Order of the Equinox is the dominant one. No contact has been made with factions outside of the system although some rumors says otherwise.
The battlefield includes two landing pads, an access route and the area is bordered by a forest and some mountains on the eastern side. The base consist of two buildings: The main building have a fully detailed interior that include living quarter, armory, medical bay, an office and more units for the Order of the Equinox. The second building is used as a warehouse and contain various goods.

Location: Planet Noxar (Fleurdelys System)
Sector II: National Reserve Border
Noxarian Storage Epsilon.
Status: On alert.
Image

An angry mob is approaching by the access route. They were told that the ultimate alcoholic beverage was stored inside the warehouse of this base and they were determined to taste it.
Image

This is not the only problem of the Order of the Equinox. Some Savages have been seen near the mountains and it looks like they are preparing an attack.
Image

TURN 1
The base is on alert and the battle begin! Order of the Equinox troops begin to reposition themselves while more civilians join.
Image

TURN 2
More Savages arrive (OBJECTIVE: Kill all enemy unit and conquer the Sector. - They have little chance of success but we can not blame them for having ambition). The Axe throwers take advantage of the rock coverage to begin their advance.
Image

Reinforcements come out of the base while troops of the Order of the Equinox position themselves at the end of the access route to form a barricade in front of the Angry Mob. More minifigs join and the group begins to move toward the warehouse while staying out of range of the machine guns. Two civilians separate from the group and move along the wall.
Image

TURN 3
The savages begin their attack! The Axe Throwers throw their first axes at the Officer. Her Portable Shield Generator blocks the first but the second crit for a first kill! The gunner misses while the savages advance. Armed with a blacksteel mace and a large shield, the leader of the savages enters the game!
Image

A civilian throws a Molotov cocktail to create a screen between them and the troops of the Order of the Equinox. The angry crowd is moving towards the warehouse while avoiding the machine guns. The two civilians separated from the group hide behind the generator.
Image

Three more civilians join the group. One of them is carrying an explosive with a detonator.

Image

Three civilians open their first beer (objective completed: once drunk, the civilians are no longer fighting). Ninjas enter the warehouse and kill two civilians. "The crate of document is here somewhere. Find it."

It can't be seen on the picture but a beast went for the isolated ninja on the right and, thanks to an angry inch, kills him with his battle axe. The tamer, with all of his primates dead, drop his whip and grabs the battle axe of a fallen beast.
Image

An Order of the Equinox trooper throws a pipe bomb in the entrance. Combined with gunfire, it kills the four Raiders massed in the front door (:protip: do not stand so close to each other when the enemy have explosives..). Only two Raiders remain: The leader and the grenadier.
Image

The leader of the Raiders, finding himself alone in front of the enemy troops, sees only one option: He drops his gun, seized his swords and rushes inside. He kills an infantry and knock another one down.

Image

The grenadier misses the frigate again before being shot by the cruiser. The cruiser gets above the landing pad and fire a torpedo on the frigate, hitting a wing. Stability compromised (frigate movement is now reduced).
Image

The ninjas take over the savages by (finally) killing the leader and the tamer while the drunk civilians are partying around the fire. They look to have fun.. except the one that is sick.
Image
STATS

The pilot will not survive the crash but before being destroyed, the frigate was able to hit the Cruiser and make it lose 1 hp.
Image

The last beast moves toward the ninjas only to be shot by the cruiser's ground weapons. The savages have been eliminated! The drunk civilians don't care about what happens around them and continue to party: One of them play guitar, one dance around the fire, another passes out and the last one is still sick. The ninjas move the crate closer to the landing pad.
Image

The leader of the raiders grabs a pipe bomb in the armory and throws it on the enemy troops while trying to reach the living quarters. He kills two infantries but is shot down on his way. The Raiders have been eliminated!

TURN 15
The crate of documents is loaded into the cruiser before it took off.
Image

“The Cruiser is jamming our communications! Get anti-air weapons ASAP and get ready to take it down!''
But it was too late already..
Image

The cruiser took altitude and positioned itself above the base. It then launched a volley of torpedoes on the warehouse and a bomb was dropped on the base while the ninjas went to execute the remaining civilians.
Image

The cruiser then dropped a second bomb that destroyed what was left of the base. There have been no survivors.
''Objective completed. Set course to rendez-vous point and report to general headquarter that the base was destroyed before our arrival. Our investigation demonstrate that it was the result of a combined attack of the Raiders and the Savages. We recommend to reinforce propaganda and direct actions against these groups.''
Image

Later, on Noxar prime:
- I must say that the Dial-O-Death ''Happy Ending'' bombs are very efficient.
- Of course they are. But tell me.. How did you like killing your own peoples?
- Collateral damage. Preserving our freedom require some sacrifices and anyway.. how can I justify an increase in funding if I get to control everything with my current budget?
- Indeed.. (while checking the documents)
- Is everything at your convenience?
- This look perfect. I am sure our Lord will be pleased.
- Then when can we expect another delivery of weapons?
- Don't worry about that. There will be more..

Alright, here's my first review! I feel "The Happy Ending" was a pretty well-orchestrated battle and good read. I'm a bit dissapointed that it was a solo game, but otherwise it was good! For judging, a "3" is considered average.

Gameplay: The problem with solo matches is that you're playing against yourself. So it really isn't a 'match' per-say, and the game itself starts becoming second to the story you're telling. Still, I will give a 2; a little below-average, but it looks like you kept largely to making it a game.
Photography: All these pictures look very clear, and quality is high. You did a superb job! ^_^ 5
Violence: Personally, I'm not much of a 'blood-and-gore' guy; I play Brikwars with younger siblings. However, the fighting was pretty fun to view; with a moderate amount of plastic gore. The frigate vs. the cruiser is easily the highlight of the whole report. I'll give a 4 for this.
Writing: There's a story, which is a lot more than I can do! I liked the tie-in with the Immortal War, though it was predictable when the Angry Mob was looking for the finest beer in the galaxy. Things got a little confusing with the Ninjas, though. And the Raider's inclusion was kind of pointless. 3
Overall Appeal: Overall, I think you did a fine job! The battlefield and vehicles are beautiful, and I'd love to actually have a game on it! The fight was properly violent and silly. It was an enjoyable read. Good job, BrickSyd!

Overall Score: 4/5 (Average of all scores, rounded)

Gameplay: I'm going to have to agree with swordsalmon, but I also disagree, because of the use of the 2010 rules. I will compromise and give you a 3.

Photography: The use of different shots and the clearness of the images was perfect. 5.

Violence: This is the only battle report I remember to use barf. As for the rest, it was good, but it didn't blow me away. 3.5

Writing: Because your english has gotten much better since you started, and because it incorporates the Immortal War, Post Apocalyptic Raiders, Rioting Civilians, Chaos, and those cool looking savages, I'll give you a five. 5.

Overall Appeal: I was entertained, and the beauty of your figs, buildings and ships complimented this quite well. Thank you for sticking around Bricksyd.

Overall score: 4.5/5

Overall Score: 4/5

I'm not a judge, but I think it's safe to say that everybody else competing in this contest are really going to have their work cut out for them.

I always like your battles, even if they're solo. This one was really good. And I don't see why people are complaining about the "extraneous" factions -- the more the merrier, I say.

Gameplay: Well.. despite the fact that it was solo, I thought that you did a pretty good job of keeping it unbiased and interesting.. so like a four.

Violence: There wasn't any completely absurd and comical violence, mostly just your average war-zone level of violence. so you get a four here too.

photography: All the pictures were clear, but there weren't any shots that looked like you went way out of your way to produce dramatic effect, so a four here as well.

Writing: You did include a bit of story. I liked the objectives and tie-ins with smaller factions in particular. But I think this is probably the one place you could have improved upon the most. So a three.

Overall Appeal: The battle itself wasn't all that interesting, but the building skill was as always superb, so I'm going to use this part to factor that in and give you a five here.

Overall Score: 4/5

You can put this image in OP because it was featured on the BrikWars news feed.
