You have 100 pieces to build as many ships as you want. Post your results here.

Had these ships of the Edgelord Armada for a while now but now they are serving some kind of purpose.

Distopian Royal Navy Battlegroup

Image

Thought I'd take this opportunity (fantastic idea, by the way, Silver) to go ahead an expand on some of the background stuff I've created.  I'm going to leave further information here for future reference if I decide to do more with the faction.  For further reference to the Distopian Sovereignty, see The Chronicles of Doom Clusterfic.  For more on generic classifications, see the Wiki.

The Royal Navy of the Distopian Sovereignty designs its ships and operates them on the principle of balance between synergy and self-sufficiency.  Their battlegroups are often tactical in nature as a result.  Each ship aids the others in a group, helping the whole to become greater than the sum of its parts, but each ship is dangerous and tricky all on its own.  The most well balanced of Distopian battlegroups make it very difficult to prioritize targets.  This is the most common battlegroup and consists of the following vessels:

Lancer x1
  • Fast Attack Light Destroyer
  • 30 Pieces Each
  • Equipped with Mors Class Beam Cannon x1, Small Hypercapacitor x2, Large Hypercapacitor x2, Single Engine High Cruising Propulsion with Blink Drive
  • The Lancer is a glass cannon, little more than an engine strapped to a big gun.  It has a high rate of fire, is deadly accurate, and (despite its length) is highly maneuverable.  However, it is so lightly armored that each crew station doubles as an escape pod.  The Lancer is designed to be crewed by an exceedingly small compliment.  It is often used as a sniper in military engagements.  When such a position is no longer viable in combat it is often set on a collision course with an enemy ship, disposed of in a casual manner.  Many enemies have fallen prey to the folly of assuming the Lancer to be the command vessel of the group owing to its size and offensive capabilities.  The ship, like all Distopian vessels, carries extra energy reserves to power both engines and weaponry.  The Lancer, however, carries additional redundant supplies at the expense of armor and high structural integrity.

Rampart x2
  • High Maneuverable Shielded SuperLight Frigate
  • 20 Pieces Each
  • Equipped with Ancile Class Shield Generator x1, Moderate Hull Armor Plating, Medium Hypercapacitor x2, Twin Engine High Cruising Propulsion with Blink Drive
  • The Ramparts are the real command vessel of the battlegroup.  Or, at least, one of them usually is.  They are often captained by a member of the aristocracy as a rite of passage for social and military upward mobility.  Ramparts are not outfitted with any offensive weaponry.  Instead, they possess intensely powerful shield generators capable of enveloping the entirety of the battlegroup.  These shield generators, depending upon their type, are most often highly effective against long ranged weaponry.  When set up in tandem, the redundant shielding of the battlegroup usually forces an enemy to close the engagement distance or continue to suffer the unceasing wrath of the protected Lancer.  However, this too is a deception.  The Ramparts are most effective in close quarters combat, breaking from the turtle shell positioning to ram at full speed into closing enemy ships and using their heavy shields like wrecking balls.  Their high maneuverability allows them to dance away and pinball in among the enemy fleet, crushing exposed systems, breaching hulls, and obliterating smaller ships like flies on a windshield roaring down a highway.

Praetorian x3
  • Fast Attack Escort Bulk Light Cutter
  • 10 Pieces Each
  • Equipped with Bident Class Link Interfaced Wide Ranged Forward Beam Artillery x2, Heavy Hull Armor Plating, Small Supercapacitor x4, Quad Engine High Cruising Propulsion with Blink Drive
  • Praetorians blur the line a little between Cutter and Sloop class Tactical Ships.  They're small but bulkier and more heavily armored than other ships their size.  Designed as filler for smaller battlegroups, Praetorians fill a variety of roles in combat.  Most often, they are used to soak up incoming damage and harass enemy groups with guerrilla warfare tactics.  In short, they serve the other ships of the group.  They're fast and highly maneuverable, so they can engage in combat or ferry supplies in among their group with equal dexterity.  They tend to have larger crew complements as well and, owing to their general toughness and endurance, are often used as scout ships and long range patrol when not accompanying a battlegroup.

I used this as an experiment to see how large a vessel I could build with only 100 parts.

So behold an unarmed mothership/carrier vessel along with 2 light escorts and a scout ship.

I love how every fleet is different and interesting. Also, it wasn't entirely silver's idea, it was negotiated by people on the chat

McRonald's Cargo Convoy

Image

For more information on the McRonald's Corporation, see the Wiki.

When the Restaurant Wars began, McRonald's was already one of the most obese MegaCorps and it was able to field advanced fleets and teknologies long before many of its competitors, grinding them up and recycling them into so much meat.  The MegaCorp abhors waste and this philosophy is seen both in their inexorable war machine (over 1 Gazillion Served) as well as the deployment of their fleets.  The following ships are an example of how McRonald's redeploys and reuses assets.

Large Fry x1
  • Light Merchant Carrier
  • 30 Pieces Each
  • Equipped with Underslung Rear Arc Point Defense Laser x2, 6-48 Detachable Cargo Module Slots, Short Range Sensor Array, Single Engine Intersystem Hyperspeed Drive
  • The Large Fry, the most common in a long line of long range cargo haulers is a utility vessel.  Its natural bulk makes up for a lack of armor but the vessel only has a limited ability to defend itself.  Primarily, it must rely on escort vessels to keep it safe from rival corporations and Space Pirates.  In a pinch, it can detach its two massive cargo arms and rely on its Hyperspeed Drive to see it safely from danger.  McRonald's frowns on the practice, of course, but the loss of any amount of cargo is, at this point in their economic godhood, a negligible loss at best.  Still, waste not, want not.

Royale With Cheese x2
  • Armored Escort GunBoat
  • 35 Pieces Each
  • Equipped with PPAC High Intensity Accelerated Death Ray x1, Dual Purpose Cargo Hauler Slot and Docking Clamp, Single Engine Intersystem Hyperspeed Drive
  • More commonly known, particularly in the USA, as the Quarter Pounder, the Royale is a thick set, heavily armored filler ship in the McRonald's fleet.  Many of them have been outfitted with docking clamps and cargo haulers in order to assist merchant utility vessels in the fleet.  The Corporation has spared no expense on the ridiculous weaponry attached to such vessels and so, overall, they serve well in escort and short range patrol positions.  They've even been known to be used as fodder for breaking blockades set up by other restaurants.

Oh man, I love all of these. Rei is right, my original idea was to do one 30 piece ship. Captain Camper and Rei and me collectively came up with this idea.

TacoHell Freedom Fighters Fleet Fragment

Image

TacoHell was one of the least prepared MegaCorporations when the Restaurant Wars lit up the stars.  They were too relaxed and too complacent.  Maybe it was because they were up later than everyone else on a regular basis.  Maybe it was because there weren't really any direct competitors in their submarket.  No one will ever really know because, when the Food Fight began, TacoHell was torn asunder by Big Burger, both the implacable McRonald's Corporation with their cheesy weaponry and Spendy's with their wicked sick plasma burns.  The corporation was eaten alive and divvied up among its plunderers.  However, a few of the top executives managed to make a successful run for the border and the spirit of the company managed to survive the opening salvos.  So beloved was TacoHell to the common people that they rose up in support of it and formed a rebel army under its banner.  Now, the revolution has taken the fight back to the MegaCorps, guided by the will and strength of the people.  VIVA LA GORDITA!

The following ships represent common vessels in TacoHell's ragtag fleet:

Double Decker x2
  • Light Hybrid Cruiser Corvette
  • 42 Pieces Each
  • Equipped with Dual Stream Antimatter Cannon x1, Sponson Mounted Dual Stream/Waveform Force Cannon x2, Hypergenerator and Shielding Device x2, Dual Hyperspeed Engine with Fold Drive
  • The Double Decker is a tough, capable, long range raider vessel.  It's outfitted for basic surveillance but its true value lies in its self sufficiency.  It can take a hell of a beating, it has massive energy and fuel reserves, and it's built from solid, reliable, and redundant engineering.  Entire parts of the ship can be blown away and the old bird will just keep on running.  When forced on the defensive, it's an even safer bucket of bolts as it switches power to Shielding and relies on the Force Cannons set to Waveform to blast ships away or knock them off their heading.  More commonly, however, the Waveforms are used to control enemy ships in combat and Dual Stream Teknologies (for any of the weapon systems) is used to punch holes in them.  The Double Decker is equipped with a high number of boarding craft and explosive docking shafts.  TacoHell revolutionaries subscribe to an almost Space Pirate like approach to warfare.  They take everything and give nothing back without a fight.

MexiMelt x1
  • HyperLight Raider Cutter
  • 4 Pieces Each
  • Equipped with Miniature Accelerated Stream Antimatter Cannon x1, Supergenerator x1, Single Superspeed Engine with Fold Drive
  • The Meximelt is less of an escort vessel and more of an harbinger.  It uses its Fold Drive to transport directly aside enemy vessels and lances them through with its Antimatter Cannon.  The ship is skeleton crewed.  Usually no more than a few revolutionaries are needed to operate it because of its simplicity.  The whole thing is basically just a flying gun with a generator strapped to it to make the gun more dangerous.  The downside is that MexiMelts are more likely to spontaneously explode.  Although, whether this is a downside or not really depends upon who you ask.

LocosTacos x6
  • Fast Attack Atmospheric Raider Strike Fighter
  • 2 Pieces Each
  • Equipped with Miniature Stream Antimatter Lance x1, Single High Speed Engine with Fold Drive
  • The Locos Fighters are equipped with docking and breaching teknologies, the former of which they use to latch on to faster ships in their own fleet to get into engagements faster and the latter of which they use to raid and sometimes commandeer enemy vessels.  LocosTacos can be crewed by a single pilot but contain room for several more crewman in the event of this kind of tactical takeover of enemy ships.  The fighters are agile and precise and their ability to enter atmospheric flight has often been a distinct advantage for TacoHell raids or battles chosen near planets.  They're not cheap to manufacture but they have often proved themselves well worth the cost.

Another 100 piece fleet with a pair of heavily armed cruisers and smaller frigate.

Cruisers have a combination Gun/Ram at the front and two smaller cannons, the Frigate has some form of heavy cannon and two smaller cannons.
