The T.L.A. fast frigate Omicron approaches Bavarian space, carrying the T.L.A.'s first ambassador to their new ally Bavaria.
"Captain, I have an incoming hyper signature, thirty seconds to termination. Single ship, frigate sized. They'll break out in visual range."
"Thank you, Ensign. Crew: stay alert, but hold your fire. It's probably a Bavarian escort ship coming to guide us in."
"We'll see. Breakout in three... two... one... now. Huh. Captain, looks like space hippies or something --"
"what the... holy... oh no. Oh Two-By-Two, no!"
"Captain?"
"GENERAL QUARTERS! Helm, turn us away from that ship! Navigation, prepare a random jump sequence, NOW! We're getting out of here!"
"The ship is hailing us-"
"Do NOT respond! Shut down all comm systems, all channels!"
"Captain, the hell-"
"Ensign, were you alive before the Exodus?"
"No, sir. I was born on Mothership 12, three years after launch."
"I see. But you've heard about the invasion --"
"I never really believed it. How could a single alien race take over an entire galaxy?"
"On the worlds the Invaders hadn't yet conquered, people started to... change. They refused to fight. They welcomed their new alien overlords with open arms. They even joined with them to conquer whoever they couldn't convert. And they built ships like that one to do it."
"You think the invaders have already made it to our galaxy?"
"It seems so. Navigation, as soon as we've lost them, head back to Refuge."
"But, Captain, the ambassador --"
"Can wait another month. We need to warn the President. The entire galaxy may be in danger..."
