Liberation Day Part III: The Sky is Falling

The Magic SOB forum is for posts of story sequences that are frequently vignette-based. Put those here while actual battle reports can go in Reports From the Field.
You must talk like James T. Kirk in this forum at all times. Leonard Nimoy is fine too.

Liberation Day Part III: The Sky is Falling

Postby Theblackdog » Tue Jun 18, 2013 9:18 pm

Just after the start of The Battle of Beige Fields...
Image
As Chrome's shuttle closes in on Admiral Blackdog's command ship, his instruments warn him that the ship's defensive weapons have locked onto his craft.
Chrome:"We're being targeted. Brace for evasive maneuvers."

Image
A hail of laser fire streaks past the Hr-36, but Chrome is a Deadly SpaceMan. With no regard for his passengers, he twists through volley after volley of flak and energy.

Image
But as he gets closer to the command ship, even his DSM reflexes cannot keep up with the barrage.
Chrome: "We've been hit. All troops, eject."

Image
"Shut down your suit systems and hide behind smaller chunks of wreckage."
Jump Commando: "Sir, we won't survive more than two minutes with the life support shut down--"
Chrome: "Then hold your breath. If you give us away, I'll kill you myself."

Image
Britannian Crewman: "Admiral, the contact has been destroyed. We're continuing to engage debris. Some of it will reach the hull, but we anticipate no significant damage."
Admiral Blackdog: "Why would they attack us with a single shuttle? Unless... All Marine squads, report to the airlocks immediately! We may have boarders incoming!"

Image
*BOOM*
Blackdog: "Okay, make that 'definitely'. They're headed for the bridge. Crew, get ready-"

Image
Chrome: "Sweep the bridge. No survivors!"

Image
Blackdog: "You missed!"
Chrome: "Did I?"

Image
Blackdog: "The window? Oh, bugger-"

Image

Image
Chrome quickly accesses the captain's console, and programs a new course.

Image
The ship rotates until it faces towards the planet's surface, and begins to accelerate.

Image
Meanwhile, President Bob takes his phone call...
Chrome: "Mission complete, Mr. President. Impact is in five minutes; I suggest you evacuate."
Bob: "Great. I'll pass that along."

Image
Bob: "All Army units, this is the President. Disengage immediately and escape the battlefield in any direction you can. I repeat, disengage immediately. C-in-C out."
Secretary of Offense: "Sir, as your secretary of offense I must advise you not to-"
Bob: "The Britannian command ship is going to land here in about five minutes. It is not going to be a very smooth landing. If you want to stay, go right ahead."

Image
Secretary of Offense: "Well, I guess it could have gone worse."

Just one random act of violence can brighten your day. Especially if it involves explosives.

That's how you deal with your enemies. You blast them into space.

I also like that guy that was like 'hey a spaceship is going to crash down here... No we totally got to stay, I want to see this.'
