why is the range for long ranged weapons reduced to 10", at first it was 12".

The only reason I can think of is that 12" is too effective, because the average battlefield is not very large.

Not really. 12" is something like 40 studs. Most battlefields are larger than that.

He never said that most battlefield are 12", he said that 12" range is to effective for the average battlefield size.

obviously you need a larger battle field, the nice thing about 12" is that it protects melee troops from being shot to hell and back before thier in combat ensuring some will survive. obviously this only works in a larger battle field

nah i find that 9 baseplates in a square works quite well for my average battle, considering i rareley use long ranged weapons anyway it doesn't really matter, i preffer to mount any real ranged weapon troopers into a fire truck and drive about

My battles are quick and gory, when using CP I pay for more range and damage. Battles last 1 hour or less. Except 1 or 2. My first was 1 hour a turn, my second had hundreds of troops.

As I said before, my battles aren't often this size.

those battles are fun at first, but the quickly get monotenuos. i like a good fight with foive or 10 man teams, it allows more custimization and individuality.
