New Horse/small vehicle rules? Nice, very nice... I like. (Edit-- I take back my further commentary.) Now I can teach my little clique of Brikwars noobs how to properly joust! (With or without horses!)

Well hell, if you want to either send cash so I don't have to go to my day job, or do all the illustrations, editing, and page layout for me, I'll be happy to pump out new material a little quicker. As it stands I'm doing the work of about a dozen people trying to move this thing forward.

I'm glad I can at least trick everybody else into doing my playtesting.

Hi guys. Remember me ?

I've been quite inactive lately, but yesterday I started to surf the net and found myself from here. And I thought: "Hey, let's go and check what's happening!" So here I am again.

I didn't read the chapter, because I have so little time right now (two hours from now and I'll be on my way to a gospel concert). But I checked something about it, and it looks really great. I can't say that I like the new Special Creations' Weapons section, though. Big guns and CC weapons are so damn easy to use, and the cost isn't even up. Well, luckily the range was dropped. Too much, I think.

Wrong rules version

So, you're basically telling me I printed the wrong rules?

Next, you're going to tell me the correct version cuts the right side of the page off when I try to print...

Oh, wait -it does.

Makes it hard to host tournaments.

Please refer to my previous post (halfway up the page) about providing the services of an entire publishing company single-handed and free of charge. I think the tourney in Portland sounds really cool, and I appreciate your efforts, but I can't do much more than just shrug my shoulders if you're going to try and make me feel bad about not having more than 24 hours in a day to make it all perfect. I do what I can.

Best I can tell you is, there isn't any correct version; I change the rules all the time and don't feel guilty about it at all. So you didn't print the wrong rules, you just printed one of many varieties of wrong rules, because they're all wrong almost from the moment I write them.

If you want a consistent version for your players, make sure they stick to the PDF version (which stays the same for years and years) and ignore the HTML version (which tends to change on a weekendly basis according to my personal whim).

Years and years between revisions is semi-permanent enough for me. So, I guess we'll use the PDF rules, and pick-and-choose chapters to use -like Supplement SP, other 2001 rules, and Chapter H.

BrikWars ala carte, if you will.

Meh, if you're following the rules, you're doing it wrong.

My rules were made for abeyance. If you're doing it right, you're doing it wrong.

In the 2001 rules:
Rayhawk wrote:Unfortunately, as life progresses our minds are subjected to a steady bludgeoning from such things as public "education", gainful employment, bureaucracy, legal disclaimers, and tax forms. Our brains atrophy and we become dependent on the rules and regulations that are imposed on us. This is the only reason this rulebook is provided at all; it is a set of mental training wheels. The less you need to use it, the prouder you should be.

We've designed the system so that you can (and should!) safely ignore ninety-nine percent of the rules ninety-nine percent of the time.
