Re: BW 2010 feedback
Shields and Heavy Shields can Parry thrown weapons and other slow projectiles, but otherwise you can't parry ranged attacks under normal circumstances. Heavy Shields can grant you some passive cover against ranged attacks, and a Shield Wall can parry just about anything, including ranged attacks.

Not bullets. Not without a heroic feat anyway.bann154 wrote:can you parry ranged attacks?

Re: BW 2010 feedback
I don't know if this is allowed in this thread, so sorry if not. Anyway, I noticed that my old quad bikes made it into Ch:H, which is awesome, but the picture itself if kind of poor. I have this photo with the bikes in, which is much cooler with something of a diorama to it. I can understand if it isn't worth the time to change it.

Absolutely allowed and welcome, and always worth the time to improve photos.dilanski wrote:I don't know if this is allowed in this thread, so sorry if not. This is a nicer picture overall, but because of the photo angle, it's not usable as a specific example photo for the quad bikes; you can't see enough from that angle to tell their overall shape or horse-worthiness.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
We used to have speed penalties for all kinds of attacks, not just bomb-dropping. But in order to make sense, it had to be relative speed, because the target is usually also moving. But then the target is sometimes moving the same direction as you, so you add speeds, and sometimes the opposite direction, so you take the difference, and sometimes at an oblique angle so you have to take the cosine of the velocity vectors...
That's not a joke, we really had rules for that.
Long story short, there's no simple way to handle attack penalties for speed without opening a can of worms better left closed.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
Could sprinting be a set speed? Rolling to sprint for more than a few minifigs is a pain, and more often than not, infuriating. While squads do fix this, not everyone uses squads. I know 40K uses roll to sprint, but 40K is shit. I'd like to suggest that sprint distance for any creation is set at 1/2 it's movement speed. If rounding up, this makes minifigs and heroes still close to what it would get as an average dice roll, and allows vehicles faster movement speed.

Sure, sounds fine to me as a variant. I might add in a note about group sprinting for players who aren't down with squads yet.dilanski wrote:Could sprinting be a set speed? Re: BW 2010 feedback
I've just noticed something a little weird. In the foreword, it looks like you are quoting Brickwiki, but upon reading Brickwiki, it appears that they are quoting Mike, even though Mike appears to be talking/writing in first person? It's a little weird and confusing.

What the hell? I didn't know we even had a foreword.
Wait, that's the 2005 foreword. That's not supposed to be in the 2010 rules at all. How did you even find that?
Anyway I removed it. Mystery resolved
