Re: BW 2010 feedback
The 2005 rulebook wasn't finished in 2005...samuelzz10 wrote:Not sure if it's been brought up a million times, but I think this should be called the 2015 rule book at this point...
Re: BW 2010 feedback
Is there a PDF version of the 2010 rulebook?
Re: BW 2010 feedback
I'm making one with LaTeX. It's a little out of date (since Mike has been revising the web pages more frequently than I have been editing my document), and I was planning to wait until the rules were solidified and released before putting my PDF online, but if you want what I have, I can put it up online.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
Allright, will you post a new thread for the download when it will be done? ^^
Re: BW 2010 feedback
Sure. I made a similar one for BW2005 a while back, with the download link in thread 5665, which will give you some idea of what the formatting and such looks like. I think it turned out much better than the 2005 PDF that Kolja made -- I'm guessing he basically squashed the web pages into an 8.5"-wide format (which is what drove me to make my PDF in the first place), while I used a tool which is intended from the beginning to make nicely-formatted articles and books (and Wayne's 2001 PDF looks quite nice, so I imagine he did something similar). If you find yourself with feedback on that, go ahead and leave it in that thread; I'm planning to re-make it to take advantage of what I've learned about LaTeX since I made that document, and that remake will also inform edits to my 2010 PDF, so any feedback you leave (or anyone else leaves, for that matter) may go quite far.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
A couple new updates to the 2010 rulebook:
Chapter 9 got worked over. A half dozen new little illustrations to explain propulsion, and almost all of the Thrust Vectors got chopped out.
All minifigs can now steer a vehicle and fire its weapons at the same time. A Pilot's advantage is now that he's the only one who gets to do Stunt Driving. A Rider's advantage is now that he can control a Horse/vehicle and also attack with his own weapons at the same time (appropriate for jousters, mounted archers, and dragoons).
The minifig cards for the Pilot and Rider have not been updated to reflect the new rules text yet.

Nice! I feel like how in the old days it was exciting to see your download progress bar jump from 82% to 83% after a couple of hours.

Do you ever just see people keep ignoring rules in forum battles and figure that you need to cut them?stubby wrote:Yeah, I know. That's why I realized the old rule was stupid.Nimja wrote:I think most of use did it that way anyway.

Re: BW 2010 feedback
I've been trying to use them as a growth system in my current forum battle. It's a clunky solution to what I had in mind. So, more and more, I tend to agree.
