Heroes being badass

Post by samuelzz10 » Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:30 pm

Once my friend said about 2 years ago "Samuel, shouldn't you give your hero's armor to another unit, because a hero's base armor is 2d6, which is pretty high, and I told him "Without armor, captain awesome isn't very badass. that just isn't badass." he replied, "But who cares, you get a stronger army!" what do you think? I think it should be required that all heroes are badass.

Armor to another guy means the guy with 1d6 skill, 5" move, and 4 armor will be more likely to survive, and the guy with 1d10 skill, 7" move, 2d6 armor, and a heroic feat is less likely.

So, even from a "win the game" perspective, armor on the hero is (I would think) better.

And heroes should have an awesome costume. If the armor goes with that, yeah, give it to the hero, hands-down.
This should be in the Rulebook somewhere:

"Any problem on earth can be solved with the careful application of high explosives"
-Valkyrie (the movie)

HA! Your hero is so scared of his mortality that he hides behind armor? That doesn't sound very badass to me.

He has an empire to run, he can't let his disappointing son run the buisiness. but in all seriousness, his armor makes him look cooler. captain badass, an actual hero I have doesn't wear a shirt, while captain awesome wears space armor because it is awesome.

This. Or, other badass heroes wear ossum armor that has no influence on their stats. Kind of like Conan's well-leathered Codpiece.

Screw armor. Real heroes wear capes.

Armor does make a hero look pretty badass. But it reduces their move to 3.5", which is not so badass. You should mount your hero on a horse or motorbike or something, to increase movement and badass at the same time. Then charge him into the enemy's biggest guns so no one thinks he's a coward.

In reality, I think that it depends on the hero. :pics:

Real heroes use redshirts for armor.

Heroes don't wear armor. They deflect bullets with their muscles.
