ArmorWars: The Futuristic Microscale Tank Battle Game
Hey guys, I've been gone for a while. In my absence I have been messing around with making rules for my own microscale vehicle heavy wargame. I tried to make the rules as simple as possible to emphasize an easy to learn and understand game.
If you guys would read the rules and tell me what you think, I would really appreciate it.
The rules aren't technically done, I have a lot more that I need to do.
Here is the link for the rules.
For some reason in the process of uploading the document the pictures went all low res on me. Ill try to fix that later.
If anything is unclear in the rules or you have any questions/suggestions, please ask me!

I was going to mention that but something came up just as I was about to. I'll be looking at this for sure.

Before I read anything, let me just mention how adorable those tanks are.

It's like a streamlined 40K. It should play pretty smoothly.
I love that you've pictured each upgrade and that you've included example instructions. That should make for a well rounded presentation.

Re: ArmorWars: The Futuristic Microscale Tank Battle Game
If you guys have any ideas on rules, new upgrades, ect. I'd be glad to hear them.
There are a couple things I want to make rules for and include in the game some of them are:
6.Movement inhibiting terrain, minefields.
6. Air units. Fighters, gunships, bombers, ect.
7. Naval Units Frigates, Battleships, Submarines!
8. Mech/Walker Units.
9. An RTS style game type where you build a base, fight for resources, stuff like that.
These are all on my to do list, but I need to work on the basic rules right now.

Thanks! I made the design for those tanks years ago and I wanted to create some kind of game to play with them, but I never got around to it.aoffan23 wrote:Before I read anything, let me just mention how adorable those tanks are.
Is it that obvious that I had 40k on my mind while writing the rules? haha. Thanks! I thought that including pictures would make it more interesting.Quantumsurfer wrote:It's like a streamlined 40K. It should play pretty smoothly.

That list sounds awesome. Your building skills are keen, so I look forward to their representations especially. I wonder if making the RTS style the default game type would help differentiate it. But then I worry that it might be too limiting/difficult to create that way. Anyway, I'll try and give the rules some thought. No guarantees, but I'll try.
Oh, I don't know. Maybe to someone really familiar with 40K. It helped that I a.)already knew you had an interest in 40K and b.)*just* read the sixth ed rulebook, like, 3 or 4 months ago.halo 3000 wrote:Is it that obvious that I had 40k on my mind while writing the rules? haha.

This is a battleship I built a couple years ago in the same scale
and here is a picture of a hover anti air thing. I need to build a few and make some rules for them.
You know, I was thinking the same thing. I like the idea of it, but it would probably be too hard to do. still, I'd be willing to try it.Quantumsurfer wrote: I wonder if making the RTS style the default game type would help differentiate it. I've been doing a lot of warhammer related stuff. Just haven't had time for lego.

Re: ArmorWars: The Futuristic Microscale Tank Battle Game
I think you should update it... this or I do it, and add heavy tanks and mechs nonsence ... Still, awesme and simple rules, much easyer than warhammer 40k's tabletop rules. (aand your tanks seems inspired by Leman Russ, and the artillery by Basilik...)
