You can print the Google Notebook without problem, by the way. No need for you to pointlessly wait for the update that is probably a good long while in coming.

BRIKSPACE UPDATE: I've added in several units of Drones, thanks to inspiration for halo3000, as well as a Drone Package, which function as a Missile Package for Drones.

Speaking of updates.... a new PDF rulebook is out! This one features some pictures & easier-to-read-than-text tables for your convenience. It also is up-to-date with the Google Notebook version, for those that have been waiting. Link is the same: kidkonia.com/BrikSpace.pdf

Anybody who has a picture that they want to nominate for inclusion in the rulebook, feel free to speak up. It might not go in, but then again, you never know.

Efficiency at it's best.

Halo3000 insists that there's a problem with the current engine rules, but we're at a standstill as to how to "fix" it. Any ideas, guys? We're wide open.

Diameter of the engine x Number of the engines : The ship's length x 10

Hmmm... How about making the players eliminate a weapons slot for each extra engine they put on their ship?
Just one random act of violence can brighten your day. Especially if it involves explosives.

And there are no weapon "slots", you just buy stuff until you run out of Cp for that ship class, but I can see your point.

I believe Halo3000 himself actually came up with the solution last night. Unfortunately, groggy as I was, I can't seem to recall anything more than every ship having a base engine for free, and THEN the player may buy more engines if he/she so wishes.

He did this for his Shortsword Frigates, which he designed to be almost like overly large Fighters; very fast (12" movement), but cost efficient and lightly armed.

It's certainly a cool idea, but I'm not sure how much good it will do him in the end in an actual game.

Oh, and as long as we're on movement, what would you guys think of adding in a rule in which your ship can use half of it's move to turn 180 degrees if it has a move of more than 4" (just because turning at the moment is kind of bleh)?

Fighters or interceptors can turn easily because they are fast. I think this rule should only apply to corvettes and frigates.

Well, yeah, but if another ship needs to turn, they have to spend four movement phases doing so? They may as well not turn at all.
