BEAR CAVALRY

Erm...Polar Bear Cavalry to be exact.

Pictures here. (the folder isn't public yet, I know)

The minifigs aren't included as the creature, they're just the riders. Stats are as follows (remind me if I miss anything, I'm not so hot at creature stats):

Size: 2
Structure: 2 (due to the armour) I'm still debating this, as it may be too much
Base cost: 4
Speed: 5" The armour and guns weigh it down, not to mention polar bears are already huge beasts

Subjugated Half-minds. Due to the vicious nature of polar bears, do NOT let these things roam free, unless you have a brilliant (and most likely suicidal) plan.

Guns (I consider the guns together, as ONE weapon):
Cost- 6
Use- 6
Range- 2d6"

While the guns are somehow miraculously hooked up to the polar bear's brain, the rider has control. To fire the guns, the rider physically hits the polar bear in some way so to aggravate it and cause the cannons to fire.

Total cost: 10 cp.

Alrighty, I'm on it, but be grateful!

Also, before anyone asks, at the time I figured that gun-toting pirates would be appropriate riders.

Pretty cool. Subjugated war-animals are a favorite of mine. I'm waiting for someone to make that armored bear from The Golden Compass.

Heh, I was kidding. You're welcome, anyways. Any opinions on the stats?

what's the gun damage? also, 2d6 range would get VERY annoying to roll every time you want to make an attack.

as for armor level, strutcture level of 1 is probably better. that's still 1d10 armor, which is plenty for an armor plated bear. 2d10 would be something like an armored car's armor, which this bear does not have.

creature stats you did good, but i'd bump speed up to 7" and calculate CP from that, and then drop 1" for armor and another inch for weapon weight to get back to 5. you may also want to add a 1d6+2 claw or bite attack.

construction wise, i am in awe. i really need to utilize rubber bands in my constructions more often, and this may be the inspiration i needed. and i don't think any better riders could have been picked.

Alright, thanks for the suggestions.

Blah, I was reading the rules to refresh my memory, and I misinterpreted the equation for weapon range. Based off what the rules say, the range would be 12", but that seems a tad much so I'm going with 8 or 9 inches.
as for armor level, strutcture level of 1 is probably better. that's still 1d10 armor, which is plenty for an armor plated bear. 2d10 would be something like an armored car's armor, which this bear does not have.
Like I said, I was iffy on the structure level, so I decided that I would wait to see what someone else thought of it.
creature stats you did good, but i'd bump speed up to 7" and calculate CP from that, and then drop 1" for armor and another inch for weapon weight to get back to 5. you may also want to add a 1d6+2 claw or bite attack.
I made the speed 5" assuming that you'd be leaving the armor and weapons on, but I guess it's wiser to just make the base speed 7" and subtract from there. I thought of the melee attack originally, but it slipped my mind.

Here's the revised stats:

Polar Bear Cavalry
Size: 2
Structure Level: 1
Speed: 7"
Cost: 2

Weapons
Guns:
Cost- 6
Use- 6
Range- 9"
Damage- 2d6

Maul:
Damage- 1d6+2
Range- Melee

I would use different guns on the side but maybe huge is your thing. The polar bears look really cool. Maybe you can add some saddles or a seat like this one.

I was originally going to use chairs like those, but I got tired of hunting for ones with matching colours. As for guns, what do you have in mind?

well I thought of some thing more slim like a 4 stud long machine gun that can be made out of 5 small parts. I'm to tired to post pictures now.

i think he nailed the guns pretty well. they're big guns for a big bear, and emphasize that this is a bear with guns, as opposed to guns on a bear.
