Jeeze, hold many grudges 501st?

This isn't a stupid idea at all. It's good and could really help out the wiki.

I do have one question though; you said to get your faction registered before posting it, but this is the registry. Where do you need to register them?

No no no no. I meant, for example:

The UU and VOl register. Now registered, they can set up trade routes with each other, and declare war on other registered empires. Think of it like a giant UN, or the Federation from your Star Trek Program.

So how do we declare war, and how do we enact it... and what about the load of use who are sitting in our little corners with minimum contact?
(deep-space tradeing time!).

We'll have to wait for someone to want to declare war( should be soon) and one word:

Expeditions!

The only thing this could be applied to is forum battles and the few of us who meet for games (eg Natalya, ROC, Tuefish, Strana)

Hmmm, I'll stay involved in this, it sounds like a bit of a laugh.
Maybe when war is declared the declarer has to host a battle, the attacker has to seen instructions and stats of their craft to the declarer, so that the declarer can make the sides (would only work with microscale and small brikwars).

The problem with multi microscale fleets made by diffrent people is that scales vary, so we need a basic scale, and we need Tech limits, how realistic do space ships have to be realistic ( http://www.projectrho.com/rocket/index.html )?
EDIT; reading though that page, we might not want realism.

So already this stuff is becoming way too complicated.

Okay, I was thinking in forum terms. I thought the registry would be somewhere else.

Let's just say that if two people want to fight each other, they have to come up with their own method of doing it. If we are all going to use one common system we will never be able to agree upon/understand it.

Harry: Are you fucking serious?
Remus: Well yes, but I don't see how that applies here.

It appears, good sirs, that you have entered our space. We are the Walter Jacobi Ego Universal Trust.
The WJEUT would like to welcome you, and propose a trade route with you. if you accept, you will be rewarded handsomely... if not...

*crackle* This is Sergeant Brown of the FELC, Commander in Charge of Foreign Relations, contacting Captain Palo. Would you be interested in a trade route? Our boys over here need rum. *crackle*

One thing- we need a map. Give me a bit.

YAY MAPS!

I might make a map of my home-world, and maybe the capital planet.

Ok. If a nation wants to, they can make a map of the territories they hold. I'm going to make a master map of the galactic area. It's going to have to be 2d though. Might help in plotting wars and stuff, however.

2d in space... erm...

Looking for ways of maping in 3D proves theirs no way of doing it.
Maybe leave it at galaxy maps.
http://www.andypope.info/charts/3drotate.htm using this Excel file (found on the page) you could plot the locations of galaxys.
Im too lazy for the 3d map, but im happy to set up my galaxy.
